I don't dc myself but I suffer my team DCs and when playing killer I sometimes get whole lobby dc when they see I'm playing the hag. (I guess she is hated?) But anyway I would look WHY people DC so much. Honestly sometimes I get multiple times a row where someone DC, or gives up and if you manage to save them, they start to vault windows repeatedly or whatever. But I think just complaining about that we should look further why people do that. Maybe create polls or something, let people explain without just insulting them the second they say they do it and let's fix what is the core issue. For example I have been absolutely LOVING 2vs8, I see bots so rarely, people do not give up like ever and even the DCs I do see are most likely just game crashes (I've had my game crash on this event and heard its common issue) so they can do better with the issue, because this mode is so successful. Its a living proof it can be dealt with without just punishing and punishing
I personally think maybe if we would increase the amount of bloodpoints and xp awards drastically after completing a game it would do at least SOME good. Some games do feel like waste of time, so maybe thay would fix that problem. Like getting 100k for a completed game, that would make people try more. Ofc that wouldn't fix everything but I bet some people do DC because the game they're in is so boring to play and commit to, that they just want to go next. I have had those dry games sometimes and for what? For 20 000 bloodpoints? Or even less when it's slugging killer? Yeah thats not very good deal
I mean, this is kind of not the same.. but my internet has a tendency to get weird at set times of the night routinely. if I'm not paying attention to the time, it usually results in me getting disconnected mid-match.
Was one time I was playing as killer. I had some challenges to get done. I focused on those and then was going to let the survivors go. I figured that would be the fastest way to get the match over with. When I went and screwed off on the other side of the map. Instead of getting the gens done really fast. For some reason the survivors actually started to seem to slow down, by the time they finished all the gens, it was getting close to time that my internet screws up. They opened the gates and I figured they would leave. Nope.. They stood around in the doors, derping about as though they were trying to rub it in that they did all the gens or something, likely not realizing that I was letting them go. They stood there until the very last bit, where my internet messed up and it kicked me from the match. I go back to the lobby, have a d/c penalty.. lost the progress on my challenge.. And I'm pretty sure the survivors likely thought that they made me rage quit or something.

bots are horrid to deal with, reading where you are at all times. better off returning to the old system

Hot take: dodging poorly balanced/designed killers creates a boosted winrate which forces the devs to rework the poorly designed/balanced killer. Even if it's easy to win against a SKM it's not always worth the potential 30+min solo queue game against a 3gen. Same goes for Knight.
Dc-ing will always be the issue. Even with ridiculous punishments and no selfunhook people can just minimalize the game and go make themself a sandwitch when their character is waiting for death. DbD is one of if not the most frustrating game on the market and the fact its mutiplayer only worsens this issue you cannot play 10 games and not get annoyed at some things that keep repeating or just pure unluck
rework the unhooking mechanic if its really the biggest part of the issue, make it so you can unhook till theres idk say 20seconds left on the first stage and it only takes away 3 seconds of your hook timer instead, slippery meat will still make it 6 attempts instead, problem solved

People do not DC anymore. Hook suicides are way more common.
I feel like BHVR could add a Good Sport type system that rewards you for playing matches without DCing maybe rewards you every 10 matches that you complete with like 50k or more extra BP and if you DC it either gets put on a lock for 10 matches or loses progress and restarts to 0. They could even add a progression type thing to it so you can see what you get for being a good sport
As shity as it sounds have a longer q but have a pick a killer block up to 5 killers you don't want to play agent so if you wait 15 min you know you'll not see them but there still the other 20 you have no choice but to deal with
Increase the DC penalty, or increase the reset period from 24 hours to 1 week.
Remove 4%, and remove skill checks from struggle. Problem solved.

I dc only against nurse and spirit and I don't care what u think about it, these killers are unfun and they break game rules, if devs want to fix dc problem, they should add killer blacklists so I can be sure I won't get matched against those killers

The fairest reason I've heard is that "if the Killer didn't want me to have fun, why should I care if they have fun". Which I have no real argument against. If too many Killers are going into the game intending to ruin the experience for Survivors, I don't have empathy if their experience is ruined in turn.
As for so many Killers being un-fun to play against, that just shows we needed a Killer ban system years ago. Give me a map ban alongside that, and I don't care if they don't want me to play Nurse, just so long as I don't have to play open maps as Ghosty or closed maps as Huntress ever again.
I recently had match on Nostromo as Knight, and 40 seconds in a Feng runs up to me and i hit her as she passes, and goes straight to hook pointing at it. I left her slugged and went after the others to hurry and end the match, gave the last guy hatch. Then the Feng messages me that im trash for giving him hatch, and it was "sooo fun being slugged for four minutes".
You cant make this up. Then she says "You play Knight, the most unfun killer in the game with zero counterplay. You dont deserve to chase me." Oh but apparently when i called her out on immediately quitting and ruining the match for her team and that she must suck, she "Has more 5 gen chases than i have hours in game."

I've seen a good few survivors DC at match start when I use an offering to block their map offering. Community has finally reached a point of no return. Unhooking is fine but I do need to disagree with the 4%, it needs to be removed because it is just free with no need for any survivor to unlock it yet it can cause SERIOUS damage to the killer's momentum. Plus I want some calculations done because I've seen way more self unhooks near endgame than this so called "4%"
I'm noticing in my games whenever (as killer) I get a quick down within the first 2 mins or so the person reliably kills themselves on hook. I also noticed it happens when I encounter a sabotage squad or a flashlight squad and I counter them, either with lightborn or slugging in the case of sabo (I really have no choice). I always thought maybe it was content creators farming for clips, because they usually have TTV in their names, very commonly. I think this game just makes people angry.
I think there should be multiple triggers that, if tripped, would penalize the rage quitter. Such as how soon in the match have they died, how many hits did they take from the killer, etc.
Nobody has to play any match they don’t want to, it’s as simple as that. You’ll learn to get over it. I’ve got over 4k hours and if I don’t want to play against a certain killer or on a specific map, I’ll gladly leave and there’s nothing wrong with that.
If you genuinely can not find a single fun thing to in this game, the devs either messed up huge time or you’re just not creative enough to be having fun in the first place, and you should work on that instead of just leaving. Have you tried Head On maybe?

I only hate Ghost Face and Legion, it's just annoying to play against them. I love going up against Nurse and Blight.
If they remove the 4% with immediate unhooks, it would cause survivors to run after the killer or throw pallets and make it harder for others.
It is very simple. Most survivors want to have fun. Having a 12k hour Blight tunnel you out with only meta perks is the opposite of fun. The At the same time the killer has a boring time when he wants to be challenged and gets 12 hour Dwights. The MMR system is ridiculously bad and needs urgent fixing. A ranked mode would be even better because then you only play against people who want to win with all their power

While you have to find totmes and bless them manually, killers already have them active.
Pallets are useless against range killers or against Legion and Wesker who can run and vault them.

The easiest and most boring is the killer. Even pro survivors stood no chance.

I think what causes dcs is not the todays stronger killers. Its the 40 maps with variations. You can play against trapper but if you dont know where the resorces or who dropped what then he will kill you, he dosent need to fly, teleport, shot you… We have ludicrious amount of maps plus variations that takes like 2-3k hrs to just know them, not even master. Thats why ppl use Windows of oppourunity, beacuse nobody wants to learn every map, every variations. i still run in structures no clue which side the palett on, i got downed right after, and i always hated the killer for that. Fukin chuky spirit you name it. But they never the real cause. I realised i still dont know so many palett spawns with 2k hrs, so many situations would have been better if i knew which side should have i ran in the tile. And they even add map specific tiles like in yamaoka. If there would be just 10 maps that are balanced and without rng i guarantee that half of the frustrations would gone away.
I think the main problem is most people expect to play pvp games like regular pve games or single player campaigns. They want to feel empowered, crush the enemy, do whatever they want and get away with it, etc.
The second it doesn't go their way they just quit because is not the experience they are looking for.
In dbd doesn't apply too much but for example Rocket League has a problem with smurfing, too many people is smurfing so they get easier opponents they can obliterated while mocking them.
I remember the times where they removed the DC penalty, there weren't even bots, as a killer it was super easy matches and as a surv you could never scape since you almost always had people dcing
i can see why most of the points are valid, but following them up with a random strawman comment and the acting like all the survivors act like that, does take a bit away from it though, even if its kinda funny to listen to xD
Bringing up Billy as if he is the "worst" to go against and flipping it to "not everyone is addon less Freddy" is insane. Personally i play mostly Billy and Meyers, and rarely see DC's when playing killer. On survivor i see a lot of people just go next, but that is usually understandable in my opinion. As the most common killers like wesker can be fun, but getting a sweaty nurse, or huntress with high ping, or just any of the more annoying killers like, unknown, singularity or chucky and people will not want to try. It might be fun to play those types of killers but playing against them is not worth it half the time. Out of the abundance of killers only a handful is seen because of how MMR is turning every match into a sweatfest, but at least from the killer side, i see it as "i get to make the game fun or not" as there are no teammates and i can just do what I want. I think its a balancing issue or just poor management by the developers that causes the community to behave like this to be fair.

As a killer in 2v8 I’ve made my killer teammate D-C lol I would play a killer I don’t play like slinger & they see I suck with him so they quit lol. What’s wrong with practicing people take video games to serious at all times.
They are replaced by bots. Your argument is null and void. I wish everyone that is DCing gets fucking over it and stops playing this game so that it can finally die out, and all you communist believing idiots can cry about not playing the game anymore.
The game caters so much to one side that it is a miserable experience on the other.
The day consumers realize that the longevity of their product depends on how many ppl are still contributing financially to it, is the day that everyone will be happy.

This is why I took a break from this game to play more singleplayer games. I had Yoichi DC 10 seconds into the game, another match is my whole team gave up against Blight right at the start. This shit is unplayable
I feel like SBMM killed off the casual player base. So you are only left with comp players that can’t lose at all. They balanced the game for you sweaty comp players and this is what you are left with. Congratulations. You comp players got the game you wanted. You should be happy
Last night I had 7 solo Queue games back to back as follows
1) player has a a nic cage that makes them scream
2) player gets downed first and rage quits . Again. Seven games in a row.
3) my squad logs on and we are a three stack and it happens again game 8
This community is just full of losers.
The issue is simple, you have a split community. People who play for fun, and people who play to win. You have one queue for everyone, no shit the people who just want to have fun are going to get tired and DC vs blight or nurse because those games are just not enjoyable. The issue is less on the playerbase and more on the wildly different matches you play/ want to play. Sorry but if i have work in an hour and the killer is tunneling its an instant DC😂. The issue is going to persist until they seperate queues🤷♂️
This is definitely a non fixable issue. The dc penalty is the probably the only thing they can really do. & Even that, Mfs dont give a shit & still dc anyways 😅

I have dc'd in the past, still do. The only reason I do it is if it is a constant repitition loop, I was playing last night and got the knight back to back over 10 different times. Those 10 times I was slugged on the floor at 5 gens, same with the other 3 people on my team. I don't like dc'ing but the game can get to be too much some days, I cannot speak for everyone else. But I'm easily angered and I try not to let dbd piss me off, but there's days where I just can't with the game.
i play fighters and other competitive stuff.
It's a problem everywhere. Its so problematic that Mortal Kombat has Quitalities.
So when someone quits they die instantly and knows its a rage quit.
Sometimes its just connection problems 🙁 i’d get DC games in a row and it’d give me a 40+ minute penalty
The Skull Merchant fiasco is understandable why people would DC, she was awful and I didn't like her myself but BHVR butchered her to the ground which is unacceptable, she deserves better yet BHVR for some reason don't want to entirely rework her (there is so much you can do with drones it's just ridicilous why is it so hard for them to come up with something good like even making the drones follow the survivors and reveal only their aura would be a good way of fixing her)
When it comes to DCing I realised there's a big trend of people getting annoyed when the game doesn't go as they wanted, I get it DCing for being tired of certain killers or mechanics but it should only apply to rare events and rare circumstances and not all of the time which is ridiculous.
I HATE NURSE WITH HOLE MY HEART but as long as I don't get her 3 matches in a row (like I do with Wesker or Huntress smh) I would not DC, do you get what I mean?
