  1. Patrick:mmr is very good at determining that those who go against eachother will both be at similar skill levels
Me after mmr dropped:hey BHVR ive lost 40 times in a row and am still getting smashed please fix mmr

  2. I've posted this on a couple of other DBD videos talking about SBMM.

This is an SBMM formula I came up with within a couple of hours over the course of the past few months since SBMM has been introduced. I have done a couple of revisions to it, but this is the latest version.

All points would be rounded up or down to the nearest SBMM point after the calculation is made.

    Killer

    a = number of hooks

    b = number of kills

    MMR points = ((a*1.5) + b) -10

Killer can get anywhere from -10 to 12 SBMM points in a match.

    Example #1

If a killer got 8 hooks, and 3 kills, they would receive 5 SBMM points.

    Example #2

If a killer got 4 hooks, and 1 kill, they would lose 3 SBMM points.

    Survivor

    a = % of generators completed (100% is one generator's worth)

b = # of safe unhooks made & protection hits taken

c = # of seconds you were in chase

d = # of seconds you were in the killer's field of view, but not in a chase

e = escaping the trial, not through the hatch (would give you 2 points)

    SBMM points = ((a/40) + b + (c/18) + (d/30)) + e) – 10

    Example #1

If a survivor completed 180% worth of gens, made 2 safe unhooks, took no protection hits, was in chase with the killer for 80 seconds, was in the killer's FOV (while not in chase) for 25 seconds, and escaped the trial, they would receive 4 SBMM points.

    Example #2

If a survivor completed 250% worth of gens, made 2 safe unhooks, took 1 protection hit, was in chase with the killer for 140 seconds, was in the killer's FOV (while not in chase) for 40 seconds, but didn't escape the trial, they would still receive 10 SBMM points.

    Example #3

If a survivor completed 75% worth of gens, made no safe unhooks, took no protection hits, was in chase with the killer for 35 seconds, was in the killer's FOV (while not in chase) for 18 seconds, and escaped the trial, they would lose 4 SBMM points.

If you increased Example 3's gen progression to 250% to make it more akin to a "gen-rush" match, they would only receive 1 SBMM point.

Unlike with Killer, it is not as likely to get -10 points and it is possible to get over 12 points, although it is difficult.

    * The chase time was easily the hardest variable to gauge. I tried to account for this version of the SBMM eventually evening out the player base's skill level enough so that chases that last minutes would be uncommon.

*If a survivor DC's, every other survivor, and the killer, receive a number of SBMM points equal to the number of hook stages that the DC'ing player had remaining.

*For the FOV points, they can use a similar system to how they track Stalking for Ghost Face & Myers.

*Technically, a survivor can get more % of generators completed if a killer is running gen-regression perks. It could actually reward survivors for playing against strong perks such as Pop, Ruin, or Pain Resonance.

It definitely isn't perfect, but I would be willing to bet it would make a generally more fun gameplay experience for people across all skill levels.

  3. Hit validation is an issue. When a player sees someone on screen, then does not get credit for it, it is not a positive experience. They need to extend the animation for the player. For example, the killer sees a dead hard animation as only 0.3 seconds long, but that survivor sees it as 0.5 seconds. That bridges the gap from lag.

  4. Dbd is a hockey 🏒

As a killer just stand near the hook and wait for this poor loser to die because he's trash and you are skilled player.

As a survivor : get comfortable with the lockers and wait for your team to do all the work, if they didn't blame them for your own failure because you are the skilled player for avoiding the chase

  5. Who is more skilled, survived or "chased and dead"? The one who survived is smarter. He should rank up to the point where he cannot escape by this method so often. The one who is running all games and dies after 5 gens every time should be deranked to the point where he wins at least some games. Skill is not only "chases" but also decision making: if sth works for the player survival – then it is better. If your playstyle is not working in average, then it shows you are not skilled.

Killer is a killer, not a hooker. Killer is suppused to kill, hooking is just a method. If killer decides to tunnel, then it is survivors problem: if they don't take hits for each other, in average they will lose and derank. So it IS profitable to play altruistic. And there is more reason for that than in 8hook matches, when killer switches victim every time and survivors have 4x time before first death, they don't need to as altruistic and mindful.

  6. Im so sad that devs arent watching these types of videos… Youre right in every way, also Scott jund had AMAZING ideas that would make the game near perfect

  7. I guess I am okay with CoH at 75% for now, as a killer main. I want the perk to stay strong, but not overpowered. There are some better ways to change it instead of that, but that works for now.

  8. One of the SBMM problems is that when I win like 3 times in a row, I already know that Im going to lose the next match and Im not looking forward to it… I want my games to be unpredictable as before :l

  9. I tried but I can't watch it again. It's obvious the devs either don't play their own game or they don't know what the fuck they're talking about. When Peanuts explained why perk tiers need to stay because the grind is getting exponential, he's arguing for the opposite. It's completely mind boggling. Then there's patrick who always comes off as a condescending prick

  10. There's only nuance in the numbers when Patrick wants there to be to support his bad decision makings. When it comes to kills and escape there is none important enough to him, running the killers for however many gens or minutes is not "skill" but hiding and running the killer to your allies is as long as it guarantees that individual survivors escape it's not nuance enough for him. But nerfing twins 2% playrate and 50% or something kill rate because they're strong at high mmr is enough nuance when nurse is in the same game, they're her only two usable addons it's not helping the killer whatsoever if you buff the addons that do essentially nothing you're just making those usable addons a bit worse that they'll still use.

  11. You know how if you vault a window too many times the entity blocks it? Why not do something like that, but with boon totems. Say if you bless it 3 times and everytime the killer snuffs it, on that third snuff the totem is cleansed?

  12. I wonder how coco still has faith for these devs after their long record of promising golden mountains and delivering minimal effort features or nothing at all.

On that note, reason behind no replay and no action against cheaters unless video proof is provided is because these devs never implemented seeded map generation or any kind of tracking functionality.

Both of these are quite easy to do but it's apparently not important.

But it's good thing there are separate teams working on bugs and new content. Both of these individuals must be great at their job

  13. the dumb thing about the devs only using kills and escapes is that he compares it to a team based sport, where the teams are what is being compared and not the individual players

  14. Patrick has no apparently idea how difficult and negative effects it has if you run a killer for 4 gens then get tunneld and camped and you are the considerd " a noob ". And you deserved to de-pip and lose the match. 😒

This guy should be removed from the devs team immediately. He has zero insight of the gameplay he only is the "creator of the shithole" DBD is currently in. I think the hockey example is legit so dumb that nobody will come back that has left the game. that did see dowsey hes videos about much of a leak these devs have in there knowledge of the actual game play in the game itself.

These devs might seem understanding BUT, they dont know shit about the gameplay. They only understand the whining people on the forums because they can read people there emotions, wich results in nerfs that are sometimes unnecessary. Its like giving a little child hes candy after whining 6 hours. While he hasnt been a good kid. These choices and changes with alot of perks were tottaly unnecessary.

Someone needs to be kicked out of the team ill leave it open for you guys who i got on my mind. 👍😃

I think dbd is on a deathrow slowly and honestly the devs signed thier own contract towards this🙃😅😉

    #uninstalledbtw 🙃

  15. Hey coconut, I really look up to you as when your playing huntress and I've been playing her for a long time now, however I have the disadvantage of console dbd, do you have any tips? I'm an iridescent rank huntress

  16. About 5 gen in 4-5 minutes, killers can easily end match in 30 seconds, so if you wanna make matches longer you should make it longer cuz the fastest matches(1-2min) it's absolute killer win. So coco if you complaining about fast matches you should consider fast matches were all died in 30 seconds. And i think the way it work is fine how many mistakes you made/punish results in time match lasts.

  17. My two cents.
1 there just wrong about boons, they aren't fine, they are a straight up better version of hexs & show some level of bias.

2 "twins are monsters at high mmr" I thought you guys didn't like balancing around that. I swear they said that, but I don't remember.

3"we are working on health & new content " so to answer your questions, No we aren't focusing on health. (I just found this funny)

    4. His metaphor for kills/ points for skilled play makes total sense, for killer, it however makes no sense for survivor, mmr is bad for survivor.

4-A killer has advantage at low skill levels, so you as a survivor are more likely to drop, you then get paired with worse teammates which then let the whole team die more often, dropping mmr…ect. this would also eventually have weird moments of accidently (or deliberate) smurfing.

4-B it is not your goal to get just yourself out as survivor, it's your goal to get as many people out as possible. Look at kill you get +20 for each kill-20 for each escape, so to go up you need a 3k or better, so 3k is a win for killer. Why should a survivor win when they are the only way out? Your skill should be on if you can get the team out, even if you die. Survivor is a team game, it should be treated as such.

    5. Despite point 3, I do actually think the devs are thinking about game health, & have noticed there steps, while I clearly don't agree with everything, I do appreciate it & think & hope it will get better.

    4-C TIES EXIST YOU KNOW!

    6. A lot of people I've noticed are annoyed with the vague answers, but they need to realize that there acting as representatives, bhvr needs to agree as a whole before they can say a definitive yes or no, which is alot of discussion, planning, & resource management, which is slow as fuck. So they answer what they can as best they can.

7 on they very rare chance someone working at bhvr reads this. Thanks for all the hard work, I've been following dbd for several years & finally got the ability to play it 14 months from now. It's a great game. Sure I have had a lots of ups & downs but it's been fun all the same. Please keep working hard, look forward to what's coming up.
    Thank you.

  18. . I don't think just changing stats on boon circle of healing is gonna be enough
It should not work more than once if the killer destroyed it especially this boon only needed to be equipped by just 1 survivor and the whole team benifits

  19. Egc doesn't force anyone to make any decisions lol
Because survivors can choose to 99 and stay there for as long as they desire
Egc should honestly auto start at the point when the last gen pops but they increase time by let's say 1 minute and add to already egc time
So egc isn't reliant on opening the gate
This will also benifit the game to have a great closure instead of survivors 99% gates and getting around the features they were there for another reason

  20. Coco i love you great and fun person to watch but your editor (idk if its yourself) needs to work on audio balancing. For this video my TV volume had to be turned up from its usual 12 to 60! To hear the vid but when you talked my windows would then shatter 😂

  21. 16:00 I have a question! Isn`t that, what ALL you content creators said that counts in the Discussion between Tru2 and Otz about Hooks and Kills? I do really not understand. All you CC are now against the MMR…and the stuff you say against the MMR…is the STuff that WE Tru3 Fans said to YOU people, that were on Otz and Scott Cunds side! And you said EXACTLY what Patrick is saying here as argument that Tru3 is wrong…And now, you use all the arguments we used against you against the devs, to claim the MMR is bad, because Dowsey cant do his stupid show off 50 wins in a row Videos anymore? I like you coconut , but with this …GTFOH!!!!
