I like the idea that thinking of the Unknown attracts it to you. The more you try to find out about it, the more it is certain that it’ll come for you next. It doesn’t have any origins either. It’s totally unknown.

Just sayin. The crows in chile was totally intentional. It was a sign of the entity's meddling and an eerie detail once you find out. The OSS being around is likely meant as a "secret government" thing even deeper than the CIA. Cool your jets man, some of this is meant not to line up with reality

I choose to believe that the unknown is an interdimensional horror kind of like the entity but on a way smaller scale. It somehow got dropped into a random reality or made it's way there through other means and as it hunts and kills people it learns about its growing legend and decided to keep going and doing more acts of violence just because it want's to and somewhere along the way it got captured and studied by scientists and military and let loose on random areas to see how it adapts and evolves.
Probably just a crackpot theory but it makes the most sense with the little bits of info we have so far

I hate it whenever people say that the Unknown's power doesn't fit it, because it perfectly does. The Unknown is something we don't understand anything about, and if they try to make a power for it that would make sense like crawling or stealing people's voices, then it at the same time wouldn't make sense because that's contrary to it's entire idea. Nothing about it's power makes sense and it's perfect. I kept up with every teaser and every one had me think "wtf is this? wtf is going on?" and then when i went in blind against it, that feeling reflected perfectly and I really hope his Tome doesn't reveal his backstory.

Something I find hilarious about this is that Olivia probably managed to catch both The Unknown and The Entity's attention at the same time with her investigation, leading to the pointing Spiderman meme when they both began to stalk her. The Unknown reminded me a lot of SCP-2521, who takes those who discuss it out loud or write about it and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I just love how different the Unknown is compared to most killers, which is why it works so well.
I wonder if it is a flesh pedestrian (you aren't catching me that easily). That would explain the skin, the mimic-ing and the twisted appearance. Even the lore about talking about it draws it's attention to you fits.

I like the idea of the unknown being a tulpa a lot. Tulpas have so much potential for horror and we already have the dredge.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since skull merchant was released. I’m one of the few people that love her (personally one of my comfort characters ❤). Slightly off topic but I have a theory that Seita’s nightmares was created by the entity and that the entity took him away.
Anyways I can’t wait for this new chapter to come. I absolutely love the character designs for both sable and the unknown
I honestly would say that maybe the OSS files are more a ploy by the Black Vail to keep it in power. Maybe to get it noticed by the Entity, overall it would make sense that these documents are intentionally made vague to instill fear. Maybe an experiment to see how the potency of this creature would increase if they stirred the pot. What would and wouldn't work to create the Dredge.
