Comparing survivor winstreaks to those of a killer is nothing short of idiotic
Pip or double pip i concider a win. I hate that they changed the entity rating.
Win streaks are bad for my moral and selfreflection, but i can say i had 8x times in a row a lobby of 4 ppl running medkits with red add on and 4x madefor this, resilienxe, dead hard and windows. 8x times in a row with small variety. So sometimes i play "perfect" and still 4 ppl escape. As for example oni or plague. Its really tough sometimes
Losing games doesn't affect me. I always try my best to get at keast 1k when everything does not go well. So my mental scheme is like:
4k: "Gigachad theme intensifies"
3k: "Satisfying"
2k: "Could've been better, but who cares"
1k: "GG, wp and go to the next game"
Personally i'm always ready to face the consequences of playing a specific killer on a specific map and this allows me to remain calm.
This is probable incredibly petty but, if I kill a twitch streamer in dunkin bad donuts, I consider it a win, If i fail to kill one, I consider it a loss. If there isn't one, I just treat it like normal.
It's interesting the idea of what constitutes a win, and the game itself gives you mmr for a 3k regardless if they escape through exit gate, and the game treats a hatch escape as a kill in terms of mmr for the killer. With you getting less mmr for a 3 vs 4k but still gaining mmr and being a "win" as long as you get at least 3 kills
10 hooks win
To be honest I think it's only problematic when you get to an extreme, like any point above 100 wins it gets more and more evident that there's a common denominator besides the killer and survivors individual skill levels.
I considered a win is when I scare the sh*t at the somebody as killer.
I lloovvee Trail of torment
Best perk for being a sneaky fu*ker also its a better surveillance if you remember that perk.
Don't let the algorithm burn you out dude, hope you can find the happy balance between work and play so this doesn't end up feeling like a soul crushing job, like everything under uncapped capitalism tends to be.
As for winning as Killer, I don't know, I'm probably the wrong guy to ask. I consider it a win if I get my challenge completed or if I felt I was in control of the match, kills are secondary. I view the Killer role more as a Game Master of sorts then the opposing side and I want to craft an interesting experience for the Survivors, so I tend to play Killers like Pig and Nemesis.
I do remember a time when win streaks use to mean something and people got upset with noob3 for getting a high win streak and someone put a hit on him to end the streak lol
It’s not about the destination but the journey taken …
A win is any killer match where I make it past the postgame chat without needing to make a tearful impromptu phonecall to my therapist.
BHVR considers (according to our MMR) 3k above a win, a 2k a tie, and anything less to be a loss. I personally, also consider 2k to also be a loss.
as a killer main…winning (even though this isn't what the game is really about) is just hitting that 3k or 4k…the rest doesn't really make a difference
id love to say more but i dont really think im qualified to talk on the topic without bias and probably incorrect assumptions but outside of that i think my win condition might be a bit more unique then what youll hear so here ya go.
7 or more hooks=win
6=draw
5 or less = loss
And those are all hook based whether someone dies in the match or not, example 7 hooks but no death? still a win by my condition i fought hard enough against a team that was obviously my better and i still shaved enough life from their bones
bro in my option a win as killer is litrilly just if i had fun. even if i only get like 2 hooks on one person as long as i had fun chasing that person than it's a win
Great points. Now I'm trying to figure out if i have a greater than 50% escape streak as survivor.
idk if you were joking or not in the start of the video about running out of content ideas but something i think coul d be cool is if you asked your community to come up with perks like kyto used to (rip kytos perk vids) or maybe even a whole killer or survivor concepts. But idk you do you and keep up the good work
Back when I was first starting out, I struggled, big time, and would find myself getting frustrated. In many games I've played over the years, I've had plenty of matches where getting a 3 or 4k wasn't feasible, hell, even a few where just 2 wasn't doable. It happens. So, I made my own win condition. To make games overall less stressful. My win condition was 4 stacks of barbeque & Chili. Didn't care how many got out, as long as I got my double blood points. Don't get me wrong, I still tried to kill the survivors and all, but anything after my 4 stacks was gravy and it helped immensely. I can 4k relatively often.
My entire play style centered on Barbeque & Chili and… I miss it dearly… I know I can carry the spirit of Barbeque & Chili through Grim Embrace but… it's just not the same…
The Blight winstreak was explicity abusing tunneling IIRC. The game doesn't function with 3 Survivors, so reaching that ASAP turns the match into a free win. I tried playing with friends at one point, but we only had 4 people (1 Killer 3 Survs) and the game is just impossible. The normal scenario is 1 on hook, 1 in chase, and 1 going for the rescue/heal. The only time for gens is the first chase, or if the Killer was bad at the game. Also the Blight winstreak was streamed by a larger streamer, it would be more difficult to 'not count' a match, as people would be asking where the missing VOD went yet the wins went up in between.
As far as when Survivor players want to be able to 'loop the Killer', I think a more accurate statement is for them to have a meaningful choice. Zoning killers are considered 'boring', because they change the gameplay into a flowchart with only 1 viable option. When a weaker Artist or Xeno whiffs their power at a loop, the skilled/knowledgeable Artist or Xeno could have instead only used the power when the Survivor was animation locked or taken the M1 otherwise. That leaves Survivors with only 1 choice, do I go down to the M2 or the M1. Not exactly a meaningful choice.
Blight/Nurse/Spirit(/and Wesker Dashes with a laggy Wesker) instead take a different route. They move so fast that the Survivor can't reasonably respond, so the Survivor has to read the Killer instead. You might be forced to pre-drop a pallet knowing that the Blight could have simply bounced 3 more times and hit you regardless. You might walk forwards or backwards against a Spirit while healthy. The normal method of 1v4 is based around the viable Survivor choice odds being a deck stacked in the Killer's favor, and those above listed Killers (and Wesker with 150+ latency) arguably stack the deck too far in the Killer's favor.
Taken in a white room, I'd consider Deathslinger's power to be just right in terms of strength. You can get janky hits for the injure, or learn loops and shoot through/above walls with good reels for the down. You can also throw in Coup De Grace and STBFL to be overwhelming in chase. He mainly lacks from QoL issues, like maybe being 4.6 while unloaded, or a free reload on hooking a Surv.
The worst issue with winstreaks though is how sweaty it changes people's mindset. I'm in the 'DBD is a party game not meant to be taken too seriously' camp, and as long as a perkless add-on less Trapper can be sent to Mother's Dwelling, and a meta Nurse can send herself to Midwich, I don't think my mindset on that will change. Now I'm not saying don't try to win, just the expression of skill is meaningless compared to say Counter Strike or StarCraft (CS and SC, never noticed that lol). I think people should only sweat as much as their opposition, otherwise that Meta Nurse sending people to Midwich will make those Survivors send that perkless Trapper to Mother's Dwelling in the next match, then the cycle of sweat continues. Winstreaks cause you to start sweaty, instead of only sitting up in your chair against a stronger opponent.
it's only a win if it's all players are playing to win and evenly skilled. For killer if there's an afk, newbie, troll, or someone just trying to do a rift/daily/achievement it's not a serious game. For survivor side, it's not a win if you're playing with voice comms 🙂
This guy is funny as hell 🤣
you say these things because ur a pub bot who doesn't know how to play at the top level and things mmr is a factor
You're perpetuating a misconception about MMR from 4:30 on. MMR does not carry between matches if you swap killers: someone getting consistent wins with Nurse is gonna keep climbing MMR as Nurse, regardless of whether they win or lose with other killers in the meantime. Those wins or losses only affect two things: that killer's MMR, and your peak MMR which killers with no recent MMR evaluation will default to. Since swapping saves the MMR you left at per killer, it's thus absolutely a streak if you're still streaking per killer.
For me a win depends on the killer and challenges and my experience with them AND whether or not I’m aiming for their adept challenges. If I’m using a killer for the first time for a daily challenge with their 3 perks and finish the daily with like 0 or 1 kill that’s a win. If I’m going for a hard challenges, example like 6 traps in 1 game with no kills that’s still a win. If I’m playing just for a basic challenge or fun and get 3 and the last one escapes or I let them leave that’s a win. For me at BASE at least 1 kill is a win if the difficulty is already hard enough when I’m going
Win or 'lose' it's still a unique and fun game and everyone gets blood points.
I just started two weeks ago. I have never cared about 'winning' in an asymmetrical game that involves RNG.
Any kills are a win, if you work for them I guess? 🤷♂️
If you're looking for topics to discuss/think about, I recommend talking about the new player experience. Think I mentioned it in a different comment on this channel but I reeeeeeally think DBD needs to make some massive overhauls to the new player experience. Just my two cents
come scrim ur blight?
Its odd how there is NO DEFIFTIVE rule set on what counts as a win.
Dragon Ball Breakers have it in their rules on what counts as a Win for the survivors and Killers.
For example
1 the killer needs to destoy the Sutvivors Win con (called the super time machine)
If they destoy it it counts as a win because its the Main goal of the Killer. Killing surivors just help you get a better Score and get more XP but thats a second Win con for the Killer listed in the game.
If all if the 8 players are dead thats a Instant win for the Killer.
The survivors also have a clear win con listed in the rules.
1. Set up the Super time machine andlet it reach 100% completion. Or defeat the Killer. Those sre the only 2 win cons for the survivors.
Then getting (this games equivalent to Hatch) The Escape Time Machine. Is not even counted as a win. Its still technically a loss its just you survived but failed the core objective. The Killer still get their win screen after they escape.
When that happenes.
(Btw) The only way for the Esacpe time machine to appear is when the killer destorys the Super time machine.
I wish DBD had official rules set on this and not Fan made ones.
I'm a killer main and I count a 3k a win. I typically give myself a handicap so I think that's fair without any room for doubt
Great video! Winstreaks suck the fun out of the game imo because there is only one game mode. If I could make a suggestion, could you please stop saying random words when you really mean to say Dead by Daylight? It's really confusing me and I have to go back because I get so caught off guard. Also, It's not even funny. You are just saying random words that make no sense. Thanks
i mean you could also play 4 matches and win, then change killer, lose 4 matches and maybe never change your mmr?
otz literally did a video that highlighted a guy that did 500 survivor escapes streak and only stopped because he got bored, what crackhead is honestly saying that killers are OP because of the blight 1k streak
As killer I just have to make them mess up? That's sounds way to easy.
I get a lot of red medals after matches. I guess double pip would be considered a win single tied and none a complete loss. I guess.
Cuddled tier list when?
