  1. About the comparison to rocket league, stealth isn't really a game mechanic there. The FOV slider was there since launch I'm pretty sure. The most common gamemodes are duos and trios, where you have to keep an eye on where the ball is, and where the cars are, Hiding this information isn't really a game-mechanic. Information is made to be very accessible, and having an FOV slider hardly affects it. Having large FOV can even make you have less car control, so there's even a balance. In CS:GO, most professional players play with reduced FOV, because it can make aiming easier, with the trade-off of less vision. In DBD, the trade-off seems to be a perk slot.

The point is; in DBD, FOV seems to be more of a core game mechanic, as bhvr seems adamant about.

  2. I have a photosensitivity issue and can get motion sick easy so i sort of have to use shadowborn and lightborn active. If they added an fov slider and made an option for blinds to make the screen black instead of white i'd be able to actually use all 4 of my perk slots. But it took bhvr literal years to add a colour blind mode so I'm not hopeful for more accessibility options in the near future.

  3. Okay, so hear me out. Shadow born DOES actually affect gameplay SLIGHTLY. Flashlights can actually blind from slightly better angles when a killer has Shadowborn vs not having it. No, I don’t think this means we shouldn’t still have an FoV slider, and before you respond, yes, I agree that that’s a stupid mechanic.

  4. There's so many things killers need especially with the constant survivor buffs. I feel like shattered hope should have been base kit, corrupt should be base kit. If killers feel like things are more fair they will play fair. Right now every match I feel like I have no chance at winning from the moment the match starts , playing killer makes me feel awful, 2nd , 3rd, 4th chance perks. So I started tunneling one out immediately and playing dirty. If I had corrupt to stop 3 gens popping by first down maybe I wouldn't camp and tunnel? If survivors didn't have infinite heals with boons I would consider hit and run. I'm not gonna waste every perk slot tho on stuff that should be QoL. If killer for some actual buffs, legit QoL I wouldn't care if players don't get no scratch marks, blood, noise after being unhooked til they do an action. As long as killer is fairly compensated for once.

  5. I am one of said players who cant play without it. I just cant play killer because I get dizzy with how zoomed in the camera is. Even just the 15 degree difference helps so much

  6. I can one hundred percent agree with you here. I love shadowborn and it has helped me see so much more when I otherwise wouldn’t. Here is hoping BHVR makes it into a setting for the killers.

  7. I legit struggle to play first person games when my FOV is cut to the 70-80* range. Its really dumb that 6 years in this is still a perk and not just setting. I guess BHVR thinks having a decent fov is 2 OP on killer for some unknown and nonsensical reason.

  8. The only issue with this is, having a larger FOV means that killers can get blinded more easily. Survivors can already get blinds while not even being on the killer's screen; I'm not sure how a FOV slider being implemented into the game would affect it, but it can't be good unless blinds are changed somehow.

  9. Yeah i tottaly agree with you , im big user of shadowborn on like bubba, pig etc… and yeah its harder to play with 3 perks , it still gives you some advantage but i would appreciate more the basekit and when you get addicted to shadowborn and then you switch to non shadowborn its just BRUH what happened. ♥

  10. They would need to record blindness but yes, how a FoV slider isn’t in DBD 7 years on is silly. I’m personally used to the FoV, I play Blight without Shadowborn and have adjusted, but I know a lot of people feel physically sick without shadowborn, and even for me, a killer main with nearly 2k hours, it can be really jarring when survivors run to the edge of my field of view, I get very disoriented because I am someone who tends to fixate on what’s in front of me so I like a wider FoV in my games.

  11. Increasing the FOV isn't an advantage exclusive to survivors, and the narrower FOV allows for stealthy plays, not only fov techs.
I think an FOV slider would kill stealth playstyles which are already quite hard to pull off since there are so many aura revealing perks and most maps are bright and without fog.
One thing that brought me to dbd was this idea of a stealth pvp game, the only game I played before that had this was Splinter Cell Blacklist on the pvp mode Spies VS Mercs that I played on the PS3.
I guess I don't want to see this part of dbd die, but I can't think of a solution to include people who have issues because of the fov. I get dizzy when a game has too much motion blur, too strong chromatic aberration, is running at a low fps or when I'm too close to the screen. Almost couldn't finish bloodbone (one of the best games I played) because of these things, and had to modify the INI files from the original Dead Island to be able to play.
Maybe a dynamic fov (like monitor and abuse already does) would solve the issue, maybe it wouldn't be enough.
I wish BHVR used the PTB to make weekly updates like this and see what happens.

TL;DR I'm conflicted between the game being more inclusive but killing even more stealth playstyles OR things staying as they are
