  1. I always like Skull Merchant. I just liked the idea of drones for a power, her design was pretty nice to me too, but her lore could have used more polish. They tried too many things that could have worked by themselves but just made it crazy. For me Knight was the worst one. He was visually really cool but his gameplay from both sides really sucked. Also he kickstarted the 3 gen killer cycle that we were getting. I don’t hate him nearly as much anymore but back then every time I saw one I just sighed.

  2. I started playing just before the Nicholas cage release. I think the most fun I’m having is after Chucky release because he feels balanced now people know how to play against him 😅

  3. Although Xenomorph and Chucky carried…

    Something does feel hollow.

DBD was mostly “dead” with the streak of bad chapters.

And the moment Alien came, TCM came and despite being a Springtrap hype tier killer, the internet didn’t explode half as much as it should have.

Post RE-DLC’s DBD is now established as a “mid-game”.

A time killer instead of something you should main.

  4. The only good thing that happend to this hame this year was the return of ST fr. Knight, Skull Merchant, Singularity, Xenomorph and Chucky are all just… So broring and single dimensioned. I feel like they just made 2/5 Killers that play themselves, and 2/5 just made it so easy to outplay anything. And one is just a easier to play version of Blight. I really love the game, like I have about 5k hours but 2022 had much more fun Killers and Survivors.

  5. I feel like i’ve played this games for AGES but i only started when skull merchant got released!! but from all the vids i’ve watched from the past of dbd, this definitely seemed like one of the better years!

  6. I’m shocked you didn’t add the return of Stranger Things! Anyway I agree overall 2023 has been a good year for DBD, especially progressively and problematic things that have been implemented have been looked into within months (fairly quick for DBD and BHVR imo). Excited for 2024!

  7. They had to release (technically) 3 back to back licenses to fix the damaged caused by the 3 consecutive prior releases. I dont know that I'd call that a good year, but its certainly a good comeback.

  8. Skull Merchant was (and still is) a massive blemish on the game this year. Other than that an amazing year for the game, both from a content, gameplay, and QoL improvement perspective. Still miles to go with gameplay/balance improvement but we can be hopeful, even if still rightfully doubtful 😶

  10. This year i feel like has plenty of potential to solidify how long this game can last, we dont need flashy overpowered stuff, just stuff to bring back what makes games… games, aka fun. Like Nicolas Cage, Chucky, and even Singularlity's voice lines.

  11. Im always surprised how everyone dislikes aliens power, but not chuckys stealh that literally removes the MAIN skill-based way to counter stealth characters (audio & visual cues) with the fake footsteps lol
