DBD has been in a rut for a while. Boring, uninteresting chapters with unintuitive gameplay and perks. But what can save DBD from this crisis? Here are my thoughts.

  1. Not nic cage as much as i like the man as an actor him being a survivor means he won't be played as much because fans of nic cage prefer when he is being a over the top loon and not being a subdued. Nic cage should have been a killer is all im saying

  2. I have to agree with what you are saying here Gimms! I want the game to keep my interest but it just feels clunky and uninspired. I know that everyone says this but…I would love for them to skip a few character releases in order to give us NEW objectives and NEW game modes (and I do not think "bot practice sessions" do not equate to a new gaming experience.
I have not logged in for a month and a bit, and I have to honest, I can't see myself rushing to the anniversary event, sadly.
Ohhh well, I guess Diablo 4 will have more of my attention.

  3. This may be a huge hot take, but I believe the licensed chapters are what makes DBD so memorable.

My first thought each chapter isn’t “what original killer will it be?”. Its always “I wonder what killer from the Hall of Fame will join”? Three chapters in a row with no licensed killer definitely hurt the game’s interest.

  4. I disagree about lacking creative ways for dbd. I believe bhvr went creative but didn't think as a player. They thought as a developer that what can be offered for their audience. Some are bad, some good and some just meh. I still appreciate small details like hud and another objective with the singularity. Anyways, I respect your opinion and lets hope for the best next year!

  5. I really hope for the next 2 licensed chapters we have are what we asked for the most after going through all this trouble. The problem with the original chapters in general is that they can either be basic, underwhelming, or somewhat creative from what we will already expect. We have been coming up with way better ideas than Bhvr ever has so far and they have used theirs almost all up, because at this point they are fucking up hard. In return, they have to bring in what we know would be perfect additions that will bring more players in if they want to keep the game alive. Jason, Slenderman, FNAF, Xenomorph, Pennywise ect or ect.

  6. I remember a while back I recommend you to play brawlhalla. It’s a free to play, fast paced, fun and competitive combat game. There’s lots of characters with really cool personalities and the game is really fun in general. I’m kinda addicted to it at the moment lol 😂. The game is still really popular at the moment too.

  7. 1. The devs need to have a clear direction of where that want their game and stop circling around the question is it casual or competitive, it's always a weird identity crisis with this game

    2. I'm surprised that the devs haven't done this since this game is 7 years old but a game engine adjustment or overhaul this is pretty much the cause of copy and paste or way too dumbed down killers the devs have interesting ideas but as you see with some of these chapters those ideas have to be toned down due to the limitations of the engine

there's definitely other things they could do to help the game, but I didn't feel like writing a whole essay

  8. This has definitely been a really rough year for dbd and as far as competitive games overwatch 2 is free and ive been really into rainbow 6 siege lately so maybe youd like one of those also the new street fighter looks sick

  9. At this point I'm starting to be of the mindset that Anniversary chapters need to licensed chapters. I know, much easier said then done but this is two years in a row now that we've received un-licensed chapters and the enthusiasm is palpable at best. I know that ultimately it's up to the holders of said characters that ultimate say so but man I haven't touched this game in a long ass time and just seeing the news of this game is insane. All the best to DBD. Good Video MrGimms keep on trucking on brother.

  10. My problem with the game is a lack of new mechanics to play with, last one we got was Boons and they did four of them and then just stopped like all they planned was four and that was it (like slapping Dark Theory haphazardly on Yoichi because it was waiting for an excuse to be released). After that, they went full hog back into shuffling the game mechanics around to try to make something new, but its just the same shit, different pile.

My personal wish list is an addition of Frank West from Dead Rising to the game, so we can get a perk that lets us throw our items at the killer, now that'd be fun but probably too mechanically difficult for a team like Behavior and would just end up recycling other mechanics that are already in the game. Even Hux is just Hag 2.0.

  11. I've started playing hunt showdown and ever since I've barely touched my DBD. The few times I've gone back to dbd I was quickly reminded why I left the game. Not because any specific killer or perk, but the attitude and mentality of the people who still play this game. Maybe bots for DC will help dbd but I think it'll come too late.

  12. Honestly weirdly enough the singularly gave me so much joy and the event right now is a blast but I won't lie when I say that after it ends I'm not sure what this game is gonna be like and I think they may pull something great off but that might also be wishful thinking idk. I find dredge and Hux fun editions especially his perk forced hesitation which is now my favourite killer perk right now. I just wish the maps didn't suck and the community were nicer to each other.

  13. I so vibe with what was said. I remember 2 years ago I was a DbD manic. Played it nonstop & loved it. Then sadly it’s come to the point I’m just not interested anymore with how the game state is. Want to have fun yet it feels like pulling teeth at times to try and enjoy something you know isn’t fun anymore. As for any comp games always have your shooters (CSGO, Valorant, Apex) as well as MOBA’s (LoL, Dota2, Smite). I get the feeling of wanting to play a real comp game (you know, what DbD has tried to be at times). It’s why I’ve been grinding Smite all over again.

That damn itch you get to play something that at times makes you go wtf yet you still enjoy it. Hell use to be that way with DbD for me. Biggest draw for me in Smite is the fact that when I do return to Ranked I can see my MMR, have picks & bans and oh wait, yes that’s right climb a ladder that makes sense unlike some 1v4 I use to play xD Jokes aside I do hope DbD will inspire me to give it a better go but for now it’s just an irritating game atm. Here’s hoping The Cage will make us laugh till next Chapter release!

  14. Kinda shocked to find out you aren’t a big fan of The Singularity. As for the new 3% survivor perk. It’s fine-ish. I would prefer if you did something to earn it. Like make it require you to unhook a survivor or do a generator so it doesn’t become a hassle in the early game. But as a person who mostly plays killer I don’t mind it as much. I get that 3% faster speed for being injured is a big deal, but I never feel like I lost a chase because of that perk.
Also a reason why I play DBD even when a dud chapter drops is because I play almost every killer. I don’t get bored since if I’m tired playing one killer I play another. And if killer gameplay bores me(which is rare but it does happen) I play survivor. I’m also a huge fan of the many licensed characters and many of those characters don’t have a video game for them so DBD has become the one stop shop to play as these cool killers.

  15. I like knight if used properly creating paths he's fun to play. Robo keran not so much. As doe Wall-E I like him alot but he's probably not a killer I can see myself playing to much

  16. I've said It in other post, and I think a couple of your streams, but you should try Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed. It already has a couple friendly with new ghosts and locations. I'm not sure about it's longevity, but it could be fun for the time being.

I took a break from dbd due to how boring the game was getting and how stale the killers were, combined with the toxicity of the community where you're a trash try hard if you win, or a trash player who should just uninstall if you lose. I just decided it was time to step away until I could see where behavior takes this game.

  17. I actually think one of the worst things someone can say about a game is "Atleast we can look ahead to better things coming,"! The present should be the main concern of a game like this, not whats to come. Especially for a game that always has "stuff to come" every 3 months.

  18. I feel like the past 3 chapters have overall been the same type of killer. The same type of power in a sense and that doesn't help. I hope we don't see it every chapter now.
