i hate dead by daylight, other times i love it. i have rage quitted and had days ruined and other times laughed so hard and had days made perfect by experiences I've had in game. it gets memed on but i really think when Mathieu cote said on a Q and A in response to being told "killer is not fun anymore" was to "try something else" we should have took that on board. sometimes a little break or doing something else can make you enjoy dbd more when you come back to it later
I have a question why dbd cant fix hitbox
Yeah I understand how you feel that’s the majority of the reason I stopped playing this game, at first sometimes the perks, characters and stuff would be a issue but I could get over all of that but I can’t stand the community anymore they have ruined the game for me unfortunately so I know how you feel man I just hope that this game can be saved from the toxicity, I think it stems from developers giving into they pressures of giving the fans what they want creating a power dynamic and the devs having to be a a lot stricter on appeasement towards the toxicity of the community
Keep up the quality videos man ✌🏼
I know you probably already know this but people have always been like this. It's important to remember that life is hard. Like brother there are so many people that don't even have the luxury to sit and talk about a video game for a living. People who do have the time and resources to care so much about what happens to dbd often take for granted the blessings that they already have. The reason I bring this up is because abuse is EVERYWHERE. If you are really shocked by how people fake their kindness but do terrible things when no one's looking, then maybe you should take this as a wake up call. Also never think that you are incapable of doing terrible things, as a lot of people who do terrible things view themselves in the right.
I was meeting someone at a party the other day. We talked a little and the topic shifted towards video games. I told him that i play dead by daylight. He didnt know anything about the game. He didnt even know what the game was about. The ONLY thing he knew was, that it apparently had one of the most toxic and crybaby like community in video game history. And the funny thing is, that it didnt even suprise me.
It's all fun and games till you've been told to "KYS" by some salty SWF that had a stroke of really bad spawn luck. Or for running Lightborn because the blinding animation helps cause my migraines. Or for getting a 4k after being 4-5 genned. Or getting a 4k period.
EMPATHY? The f#@k?
Also the DBD community has a bad time with people who have had bad days, i have had a lot of people come into my chat after games back when I streamed DBD on a regular days, tell me "i am sorry about how I played, I just had a bad day and needed to be like I was as the killer character I played to erase the mood from the day" after they said that in the game chat too, and got told mean things. I never understood being mean in a video game. everyone has bad days, and it's like I told that person "you played how you felt you needed too, I am sorry you had a bad day, but I hope hanging here with me and the community makes it better, and the day gets better for you" and the person was shocked that a streamer that didnt say a word in the end game chat was actually nice and full of empathy, and understood that they had a bad day and played to be rid of that stress. We need more understanding in others, not in just DBD, but everything else we do and play in our days too. Everyone has emotions, we should at least TRY to see their views and what we'd do and feel in their shoes.
My job is to kill survivors fuck their feelings lol I give them the good death hug <3
This reminds me of a game I did recently where after I was playing as fair as I could most of the game as Wesker, I proxy camped someone when all the gens were done, and no one was at the nearest door to the hooked survivor. I then messed up and let them get the unhook without a trade, and they all got out… and in the endgame, one of them wished awful things on my dog just because I proxy camped. In endgame. Even one of the other survivors thought they went too far. So yeah, lot of people that are taking things way too far over what happens in a video game and clearly showing that they have zero ability to put themselves in another person's shoes.
This event has really brought out the worst in people imo too.
I literally had a game where a player chose to play like an ahole to me for the majority of the game because i didn't bring in the event item for bloodpoints. I didn't even have any on my character since i was investing bloodpoints elsewhere and because of that they chose to play like an ahole to me and then left me for dead. The amount of entitlement people feel over other people having to bring in what they want is absolutely depressing.
I have personally found reasons that make me not like many streamers/content creators on dbd, things that others just ignore that are red flags I find in them doing. The DBD community is so narcissistic that they will stick with literally anyone that just shares the same opinion as them, and lots of the community is just as toxic as these streamers/creators that they become big parts of the community. I will not mention any of the people because some of them are well respected for their shown image, even if they show some bad things they will just be ignored. For the record Otz is not one of them, I just don't want anyone assuming that I think that because the DBD community would probably just assume.
idk, Bran, perhaps DbD streamers have caused more harm than good in this community (save for a select few), and in an age where you can make money from becoming a "fan", I believe there are more people who have infiltrated posing as "fans" for sole monetary gain.
Not to bring up anything specific, but if I was a fan and read another's completely different and reasonable "take", I wouldn't publicly mock and ridicule them and send my followers after them like some drowse-inducing streamers tend to do. 🙂
To be fair u were camping the Renato at 4 gens left
I think the dbd community is pretty bad compared to other games in general. I blame a lot of it on the content creators who promote this you have to play the way I want you to play or you're a bad person mentality.
Another pretty horrible trend I'm seeing is how killers are "Humping" survivors on the ground. Simulating sexual assault is beyond disgusting and the devs need to take a hardline stance against it. I record and manually report it when I see it. That should be a permanent ban level offense.
I had alot of games (on both sides) where i legitimatly thought it my head "is that even a human being?does this guy even have a soul?".I never really had that thought in a game before, except in dbd
The dbd community has been getting more and more toxic over the years, its mainly the fault of the devs. However due to the game’s redirection from horror to competitive is the over all biggest driving factor.
Going back and forth, bad experience to experience everyone became jaded. People coming from other communities playing the game . IE; Rust, COD, etc.
Just one of many reason why the game is the way it is, I have never seen a community so whiny about everything and incredibly nitpicky.
Majority of players are survivors and they are the most vocal, I understand their plight for specific issues. However, they dont play the other side.
You're complaining about a lack of empathy?
You?!?!
Out of all people? What a joke!
You have ZERO empathy towards anyone who started playing before you. You come with your knowledge that you acquired afterwards and think you can deceive people who have tripled your playtime!
Furthermore, you have absolutely ZERO empathy for killer players.
For you (like 90% of this streamer community), it's all about 'nerf this,' 'nerf that,' even though only 3 out of 31 killers are viable in the endgame!
You talking about a lack of empathy is the biggest joke I've ever heard regarding Dead by Daylight!
The lack of empathy comes from a few places, I think. I know the anonymity of the internet and dehumanization of the "other" side contributes to the lack of empathy. Psychological principles of anonymity and othering are rampant in DBD and other competitive online games. The culture of it encourages the otherization of the opposing side to remove mercy to win, which in turn also decreases empathy.
As for the content creators being outed as bad people, that is a problem in any fandom or media where a person gains a large following and influence. Youtubers, News Casters, Celebrities, etc. It isn't specifically a Dead by Daylight problem but may feel that way due to the small size of the Dead by Daylight community. This community is smaller than some and also has a huge amount of audience overlap because of it. So when things like people being horrible are exposed and circulated, it reached everyone. It happening in close succession then compounds the feeling that it is a community problem. When I believe it is more of an instance of power reveals thing.
When a person obtains power to do the things they always wanted to do, they will do the things they always wanted to do. These content creators have personal issues that clearly lead them to being abusive or other things. Being given an audience and social capital and power, they feel it. And that power allows them to drop the mask, as it were, and do those horrible things.
That's my stance. Thank you for making this video so we can talk about it. Ways to fix it is to remind others and ourselves the people on the other end of these characters and matches are human. We are all human and frustrations are valid. Yet we shouldn't resort to insults and worse when the video game doesn't go our way. Expressing frustration at the situation, not the people, is important I feel.
Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones! Your empathy towards killer Players is practically nonexistent!
You're the most survivor-sided content creator who claims to be a killer main, but in EVERY video, you say things AGAINST killer players to generate clicks from survivor players (since there are obviously more of them. Do you seriously think the viewers are THAT dumb and won't notice?). You're not as bad as Otzdarva, Scott Jund, and Oh Tofu, because you lack the relevance to be that bad.The mindstate is at the same Level.
Because of people like you and Mr. Gimms, I've stopped consuming DBD content creators.
But on a different note, regarding YouTube. It just came to mind because I saw a response from you under another video, where someone criticized you and you were completely incapable of handling it, talking about "hate clicks are clicks, too.
Did you know that you can ruin someone's watched time on YouTube by starting their video and then turning it off within the first 5 seconds? Yes, the click counts, but the watched time is ruined, and that's much more important!
These hate clicks lower your watch time, signal to the algorithm that your content is bad, which leads to it not being recommended, and keeps your channel stagnant…
That's what happens when you try to target the already disadvantaged with your content!
The problems with this game start where it's not clear what value each player has!
Killer 50%, Survivor 12.5%. That`s factual!
And this factor should be taken into account in all surveys, updates, balance etc.!
Then we would finally come to the conclusion that the entire killer role is MASSIVELY underpowered!
And the survivor role practically requires 0 skill!
But most content creators who report on this game are not capable of logical thinking, as they have demonstrated more than once.
And please, to your 50 fans who always comment here:
I don't want to hear it, please stop talking to me! What I wrote was directed at that Guy, and I have no interest in discussing anything with anyone from this community! Not anymore! The day I uninstalled this game was one of the best decisions of my life, along with getting married, uninstalling WoW, and a few other things.
In that sense, enjoy continuing to make one-sided videos.
Thanks for this video! 😄 This is a very important topic to speak about in this community. I wish more people start talking about this!
Probably not the whole issue but definitely a part of it. There are SO many of these SWF echo chambers of players spreading bad attitudes and unempathetic behaviors to the people they play with. Customs kinda help with this but for the most part this is true. This kinda thing really sucks especially when you see resentment for the game and other players start to appear in your own friends. Really unfortunate reality of this game and its playerbase 😔
I think the biggest problem is the competitivity. There's nothing wrong with a little competition but when it becomes all competition people get shitty.
That's why League of Legends is so shitty, thats why CoD lobbies are so gross. Those highly competitive environments reward that kind of behavior, so it not only persists but grows.
Competition is the basis of this game, but i think the botfill and anti-camping thing are the right direction. Also Nic Cage's perks are fun and silly and i hope we get to see more of THAT.
itll always be killer v survivor but that doesnt mean it has to be sweaty and serious. the fun of horror is how campy even the most horrifying of situations can get.
embracing that could be beneficial to everybody
EDIT: I ended up mentioning it in a reply so i figured fuggit ill add it in here too.
im so bad at killer so when im just having an awful go if it in solos ill load up ol piggy for some boops, if the survivors catch on ill let them pallet slap me and gimme the blinds, or help with their quests. Sometimes survivors will just genrush and hit the gates, but more often than not they get that im chill and theyll just point me to what they need. Ive even had survivors insist i kill them, and then i just assume theyve had shite games too and are just grateful for no stress points match.
ive found its a really good way to shake off those bad games in a constructive helpful way.
