All 26 Killers Ranked Least to Most Deadly (Dead by Daylight)

Hey everyone, today we’re going to be assessing who the deadliest killer in Dead by Daylight is. We’ll be trying to work out each of Dead by Daylight’s killers, kill counts, based on both their lore, their tome lore, and other things like cosmetic flavour text. This time round I also have all of your input from last video’s comments. Some of these are shockingly high, it’s nice to know it’s fiction. Let’s get into it.

Chapter 23 has been announced! It’s Ringu, a licensed chapter releasing in March of 2022. For now we have no further details.

  1. Is it just me or am i the only one that sometimes get more invested in wanting to see how the his matches go? Like at the end of the video, did the other cheryl get out or did she die too?

  2. Nemesis most likely had more kills then 8, seeing that in the train, even though it’s shown he kills 5 civilians, There were more civilians in the back of the train, you can’t see them when the train crash scene is shown however.

  3. Spirit made a deal, PH isn't supposed to be there, Legion share credit and anyway the less homicidal 3/4 of them actively walk into the fog the way some survivors do…

Artist just straight up isn't really a killer as far as we know, and it feels really weird to me that she'd be there without any obvious excuse. It goes against a lot of the lore about how the entity works. With that, and the way her lore emphasises her emotions, I think it's honestly more plausible Carmina really did have some kind of subconscious connection to the crows, and she really did call on them to protect her somehow. Just like they did when she was trying to kill herself.

That kinda explains why the entity would choose her, too. Like, the lore says the entity senses inner darkness, then works to corrupt people. Most of the killers are showing pretty clear signs of that well before any kind of obvious intervention by the entity. But Carmina the second time the crows came to her? When she was about to kill herself?

There's no killerness there – she's so horrified by the notion she might be responsible for a death that she is about to commit suicide. If the crows are really from the entity she's a depressed child with no powers, and her abusive father is right there, ready to be 'Rin's dad 2.0'. Why in God's name would the Entity care if she killed herself? Not to mention the first time the crows come, when she found her brother – there's no incentive whatsoever for the entity to cause that one, but if they're tied to her emotions, it makes perfect sense.

Theory: Entity is working on corrupting Carmina's father, making him blame her for the death of his son and his wife, probably the plan is he ends up murdering her… Then when Carmina breaks she summons a bunch of crows. The entity realises she's got this power, it realises she doesn't know how to use it and can probably be provoked into using it without realising, and hey the entity really likes crows, so bonus! The entity switches focus to her, and pushes her to the point where she summons the crows to kill, and thus becomes the Artist.

Two more points to support this: 1) very few killers get supernatural powers directly from the entity. It enhances things killers can do already (like Legion's power), but you don't usually get anything truly new. 2) Despite the common 'crow' theme, the Artist's power legitimately being her own would explain why she doesn't have any special connection to the pre-existing crows in the trials – her power is over actual crows, maybe even specifically the spirits of the ones she fed as a child (explains why they start out as ghosts), and she has no connection at all to fake trial ones.

ADDENDUM: The Entity and Carmina both having crow powers does seem like a bit of a coincidence. Theory 2, we know the Entity corrupts killers in part because it weakens the barriers between its world and the Entity's. And we know that the Entity's realm seeps into Terra worlds through these weak spots. If the Entity was already in the area corrupting Carmina's father, and might even have been getting close to taking him, maybe that area being close to the Entity's realm was starting to have an effect. Specifically an effect on the crows, who already have a connection to the entity.

So they become slightly supernatural, Carmina feeds them, they bond with her, and now she can summon magic murder-murders. That would explain the common 'crow' theme, while preserving the core idea that in some sense Carmina has to have killed someone to become the Artist.

  4. I would say Spirit, Wraith and The Artist are the "nicest" killers so far
Spirit did absolutely nothing, Wraith literally uses a bell just to make sure you hear him coming and The Artist just wanted a normal life with his brother
