Dead Man's Switch Needs a Nerf, Here's Why | Dead by Daylight Killer Builds

This build on The Artist is absolutely disgusting, and this is one of a few reasons why I think Dead Man’s Switch really needs a nerf in it’s current state. It’s just absolutely insane the amount of pressure you can apply all over the map basically for free.

  1. If you feel like you don’t need blood favour you can probably replace it with Oppression, if you’re able to hook next to a Gen you can kick, it would either regress the Gen, they miss the skillcheck triggering DMS or they hit the skill check. Might be an idea

  2. This is only OP on the Artist….. just say that. No other killer would be able to push survivors off the gen from a far distance. Meaning this nerf argument is pointless and brainless on your end.

  3. this video serves a dual purpose of showing how boring camping actually is. it definitely wasn’t the intention of the video but there’s not really any fun in doing it, if it werent for your commentary and the occasional break off from the hook it would’ve been a snore fest. i don’t get how anyone can camp dude 😭

  4. This has actually been my go to artist build for a while(not camping though), and I usually run pain res or noed. Imagine that first game if that hook was a sourge hook, even more disgusting, although that could just be a 'win-more' perk.

  5. I've played against this same killer and build several times and never won (usually in the bone pit). This build was shown by I think OTZ long ago. It just annoys me on just about every comment section about this game, you have people complaining about COH and Dead Hard while they say this game is so survivor sided. Yet I've been destroyed over and over by this impossible META build, and it's still not fixed or nerfed.

  6. Well, one killer gets this, with some variations on the build, that happens very rarely. Survivors still have E.
Also, while still painful, survivors can commit through the first three crows. Negating most of the pressure, and they can be healed later since artist isn't immediately near them.

  7. I feel like this is a unique issue for the artist more so than the actual perk. Birds probably shouldn't be able to be projected so close to hook with someone on it. Maybe 20 meter radius. Cuz then atlest your not making eyeball contact with the hooked survivor like Bubba and it allows room for safer unhooks.

  8. Ah yes yes let's nerf a perk because 1 out of 26 of the killers makes it op. While we're at it let's nerf Make your Choice because it's too busted on The Hag and I'm tired of facing all of these Artists and Hags abusing these perks.

  9. This is a strong build without the camping on Artist as well I think, you counter this by grouping up and doing gens together, 1 at a time and don't go for the hook. However, if you play solo as I do, then good luck lol

Not even sure what devs could do to resolve this, I don't want to see Dead Man Switch nerfed in any way, so any changes should be done to the Artist, maybe not allowed to setup crows near a hooked survivor?

  10. As a artist main myself

I don’t think deadman’s is that strong, when tofu used it with ink egg he has to wait about 15 seconds then them placing and going off so they can get about what 20ish-25 seconds worth of gen progress then u half to be accurate with those 4 shots on them which could cost a extra 2-3 seconds , the first showing of the match wasn’t that strong a example to probe your point like yah they get off the gens but reality survivors if they play a artist need 2 do these simple things

    1. Listen to the crows or count how many of its 3 crows u got a big amount of time in chance if u swarm them u got. About 15 seconds before she can hit u again , her anti loops in my opinion honestly isn’t that strong because of the distance of the dire crow there r several times where u hit them at a close range to do damage and it just swarms them so her power at close at times is very inconsistent

Also the reason why I don’t think u can say it needs nerf this is 1/32 killer and she’s very seldomly played for example dh 50% of people basically use it in a match that’s more of reason to say yah this needs it , not tons of killers can pressure tons of gens like artist she’s really the only one besides huntress ,plus the first few times it can work after that not so much

Survivor have more 2 chance perks and the game is more survivor sided and isn’t balanced so I think deadman’s is perfectly fine

Also I don’t get why he used a hex that prevents pallets from being thrown artist does already have anti loop so I don’t see why add that one that’s just my opion

My build for artist is bbq, dead mans , scourgae, corrupt intervention , with add ons idle crow and the one that allows the swarm to last longer so you can be more accurate with further snipes

  11. Damn probably the most amount of Dislikes ive ever seen on a Tofu vid 🙁 People do realize that he is calling this ugly playstyle? That or the dislikes are coming from people who play this way and are mad they are being exposed

  12. I hope you make a vid on how busted Pain Resonance is. It's like a better BBQ & Pop put together. The rng of the Scourge hooks doesn't seem to be enough to counter balance the perk either. Once the Killer gets one or two Resonance hooks the match just starts to snowball out of control. And then you add DMS and omg, it's ggs unless you're in a full meta swf squad. I was wondering why when I played Killer I kept running into sabo Survivors, and I now know why. It's the only real counter to these perks. Sabo is the way I guess >.>

  13. You probably won't see this but I have a build idea for Pinhead. Dead Man's Switch + Chatterer's Tooth + Iridescent Lament Configuration. You hook someone, then you go pick up the box to make everyone scream which forces them off the generators activating dead man's switch. It might not work as great as I imagine it in my head, but it could be a pretty fun video. Love the content btw! ♡

  14. ty someone finally said it, played an artist a few days ago she face camped every hook and sent crows to every gen (she had scourge + dms) so naturally u had to let go of the gen blocking it she did this all game and finally killed the last 2 people with noed, got outplayed, zero gen pressure all game and got a 4k… but the game is survivor sided right?

edit: this is exactly what tofu is talking about and doing

  15. perk does not need a nerf they have nerfed enough killers they nerfed Wraith and Freddy!!! And if you can't work around one perk that all you have to do is wait until she sends her crows and then hop on the gen maybe you should work on your gameplay instead of trying to Nerf killers and their perks. In my opinion the only perk that needs nerfed or just totally taken out of the game is Boone circle of healing because it's totally game breaking and very unfair for the killer there's no counter to it if you snuff it the survivors just go and relight it or they need to make it where the killer can relight their hex perks. But preferably just take it out of the game altogether or make it like the killer totems where it's a one-time use thing.

  16. I don’t believe DMS needs a nerf, personally I see this as an Artist problem. When Monitor and Abuse was considered OP on Slinger, they nerfed Slinger, not the perk. Starstruck is considered OP on Nurse yet Nurse or the Perk hasn’t been nerfed because if it was, it would be near useless on other killers.

Just because one perk is powerful or well paired on one killer, doesn’t mean that perk should be nerfed. What’s powerful on one killer, may be mediocre/medium tier on another killer. So if that perk gets nerfed because of One killer’s usage, now it’s useless for other killers.

I’ve started running DMS, Deadlock, Corrupt and Pain Resonance casually as Deathslinger. In all reality it just slows the game down so I can get more chases without worrying about Gens, but without Pain I get almost zero value from DMS as it stands alone. But that’s just my opinion.
