  1. Cazy that if shroud made a csgo video where he wins with only pistols everybody would say hes great (and be right)
    Yet when a dbd youtuber wins with meme perks or does a streak they get told they are bad or playing wrong. Major problem in the dbd community, no body can be good at the game without the opposition being dogshit apparently

  2. DBD has made a finicky strange community as a side product of the game's poor development. If the game had more rules and a clearer objective to get a win from, I reckon there wouldn't be so much toxicity within the community. Like, the game is literally on a life-support fuelled by shitty DLCs and cosmetics and yet the community seems to be fine with it. It lacks passion from developers

  3. As far as I'm concerned, it's about killing. It's in the name killer. What's the name of the killer's opposition? Survivor. It's a simple premise. Survivors are to escape alive and the killer must kill them to win. Hooks dont matter since there are perks and abilities that ignore hooks. Granted 12 hooks gives survivors more opportunities to participate in the game. It may seem more fair but it isn't. If anything you end up punishing killers because survivors wanted to quit game or one hook themselves

A very reoriented version of the game focused on clear, total victories for either side might actually solve a lot of issues like hook camping (if somehow you cannot kill a survivor by simply leaving them on hook) and a lot of specifically bad luck situations. As dumb as Resident Evil: Resistance was, that was one thing I think they got right (you lose based on running out of Time, and lose time by dying) and it seems like that might be an avenue for an indie dev to make a competion to DBD.

  5. Well your job as a killer is to feed the entity with emotions if the game lore hasnt changed, so I assumed that a win was to sacrifice all 4 survivors to the entity in order to feed it. Getting 9 hooks with all of the survivors escaping feels like the rituals of the sacrifice haven't ended so I haven't achieved my goal as a killer and lost the match.

  6. Hot take(but probably not), emblems are probably the worst system to judge a win by imo. Devout literally states 9 hooks count as an iri, but I'm sure most people find that a 3k with 9 hooks still gives gold for some reason. It's happened to me consistently. And don't even get me started on the awful chaser emblem points, it's hot garbage. I think Otz's win conditions for his 50 win streaks are about as consistent as there will ever be. It factors out game bullshit mechanics(usually) and does a pretty good job at factoring in skill from both sides. Hooks aren't good to go by when it comes to wins anyway due to survivors giving up on hook or dcing, which is unavoidable. Otz's system accounts for that tho, because he won't lose in those unavoidable scenarios. I think the 4k system is the best we're gonna get. All opinions ofc but open for debate, I actually find this topic interesting

  7. I personally side with the 12 hook argument just because I play Killer how I would prefer to go against as survivor, you know? And I do play survivor and killer. Make the match as fun as possible for both sides. I don't play this game in any competitive or ranked sense, I'm playing it to have fun and maybe do something cool as killer or survivor every once in awhile.

  8. I think you're right about the difference mainly being in perspective about what constitutes a "win." And, in a way, I think that's bullshit on Behavior's part, because there isn't a clearly defined "Success!" moment. You're left to determine it for yourself. How the hell do you balance a competitive multiplayer game effectively if you don't have a clear condition to establish who has or hasn't won? On the one hand, survivors escaping pretty much always counts as a win. On the other hand…does it? You might escape and barely pip/get any bloodpoints, and then it feels like a loss. So even though you escaped, did you really win? On killer, you might get the 4k…but if you get the 4k in the first 5 minutes of the game because you 1-hooked the whole survivor team, and you depip afterwards…did you win, or did you lose? There's too much up to player interpretation.

    (To clarify: Obviously a 4k/escaping can be considered a primary objective, but so can gaining bloodpoints, and they are mutually exclusive in a lot of cases. A quick 4k nets you next to no bloodpoints, and sitting on gens while not being chased and not helping your team will give you a pittance as survivor. And bloodpoints are ABSOLUTELY a primary objective for like the first 300 hours of gameplay unless you're bound and determined to only play 1 particular killer or survivor.)

    In League, you win when the enemy Nexus is destroyed. Personal stats come second, hence why people aren't afraid to be carried. In TF2, you win when you have Captured all the Points/Pushed the Payload/etc. Every match revolves entirely around that goal. But what goal should you be working towards in Dead by Daylight? Which goal is the proper goal? I think, at the end of the day, every goal is the proper goal, and that's why it's such a befuddling mess.

  9. I really wish all schools would teach what opinions and facts are truly teach each defined , I honestly believe that would make this world a little better 😶oh and that it’s okay to agree to disagree and still be friends I’m adding that too goes with the opinions and facts!

  10. I generally think a win for killer is just a 3k+. That just makes the most sense because like Scott said, it eliminates all of the variables that the alternative view has. As a killer main, I don't really care about how many hooks I get, If I get 12 hooks, I get 12 hooks. All that matters is that the survivors are dead. for example, if you had to get like 8 hooks+ to win, and you killed the survivors with like 5 hooks, it just seems really odd to me to have to call that a loss. Along with all the other scenarios like all 4 survs dcing, survs killing themselves on hook, surv teammates not going for saves, etc. There are just too many variables that are out of the killer's control for the amount of hooks determining a win.
