Hi! In this DBD debate, I break down and analyze DBD’s player count and viewership trends over the past few years, and answer the question of whether or not DBD is dying.

Over the past few weeks, many people in the community have expressed their frustration with DBD and some have even quit playing outright. So, I thought it would be interesting to analyze DBD’s community by the numbers, and see if the DBD playerbase is really dying or not!

  1. I believe a lot of the player base is staying clear of dbd because it's not fun anymore, MMR system needs to go imo. Most people game to chill not to stress out.

Sweaty matches aren't fun on either side.

  2. i agree with the ringu prediction BUT the peak will only translate into long term player base stability if the current issues are fixed
another MMR course correction can help. and a clear definition on what a win looks like for killer/survivor
plus they really need to build more modes. maybe ranked and casual or a better friends/party mode with more killers, more gens, or different ingame goals

  3. the only thing that keeps DBD from dying is the licenses, so BHVR never has to actually fix their shit. if you enjoy playing as michael/pig/leon etc there's no other game that has all that together, nor do I think there will ever be another game with the amount of horror crossovers. I'm kinda guilty of this too tho, if they dropped springtrap I'd be a lot less likely to quit than I am now

  4. Honestly people saying they're scared of games like VHS or Propnight are making me laugh 😭 like they're doing so great, with new content every month (outfits), licensed DLCs which are always legendary, special events every 3-4 months and updates to perks/killers, they're sooo active that the playerbase will never die. I feel though that 2022 is the year they DO need to fix some of the issues and bring new gameplay/modes to the game?

  5. im playing on epic games platform cause steam never gave games away as far as i looked for atleast a year, even if they do only those who know will know where it is at. PS i swear i read it "is DBD's playingbase dying?" i was thinking about if gameplay is about dying and not surviving xd

  6. i agree with your conclusion. a lot of other content creators (with sbmm) that dbd is "going to die". Even though the game is bad and unbalanced at "high level". that fact isnt realized agomngst the average player

  7. I agree with you that DbD is not dying, and the community makes it look much worse than it is. Though I think they need to do a lot of fixing/clean-up work in 2022 to turn around those unwelcomed changes during 2021 and make sure the players are satisfied with the game and the game can continue to grow.
I hope for a great year for DbD, and I am looking forward to the Ringu chapter.

  8. DBD is going down since years, every update makes it worse…
don`t know if it is dying but what i know it is time that it dies.
Can`t believe that there are still morons putting money into this garbage company…
BHVR deserves to go down, more than ANY other Videogame developer ever.
Because they abuse the loyalty of the Horror Fanbases to sell their garbage Game, where said Killers are then f d up by pallets and endlessloopers in unfair Surv biased garbage Stages…
In my opinion each and every owner of a license should do the same that Netflix did with Stranger Things!
So that the phrase "wE aRe thE HoRroR hAlL oF FaMe" gets stuck in Matthieu Cotes stupid throat!
Is not a Hall of Fame without real freddy and Jason Vorhees anyways

  9. It’s dead on Xbox. Maybe not dying overall but is for sure to darn complicated. After 2 years of playing I am still not sure of some things and too tired to RTFM all the time
