im for a concede option but it should grant the adept if the killer has the perks for it, happened to me many times going for an adept on a miserable killer and people dc'ed in the past before bots were added. that would be the only flaw i can think of

100% agree. When it’s a clear loss on my side, I just want to get to the next game. I don’t want to play hide and seek with survivors at the exit gates and I don’t want to be slugged for 4 minutes while the killer hunts down the other remaining survivor. Let me take my L and move on. I’ve stopped buying cosmetics, characters/chapters, and am playing less overall because these experiences are too negative. I do what behavior doesn’t want me to do, keep my money in my pocket and go outside.
3:20 If a 4-man SWF doesn't want to play against SM, a non-game will occur for the SM player. They can immediately agree to all DC or die on hook. Regardless of the existence of the concede option, a non-game will happen for the SM player. This begs the question why 4 survivors agreeing to concede is not enough. It is not the player's problem to make SM fun to play against.
Yes, why should I have to stay in game forever just because a swf wants to bully after gen rushing through 4 gens then want to chase and be toxic. If 3 gens are done in 2 to 3 minutes I'll just afk to the next game.

The clip of the dev completely dismissing the idea is disappointing, especially after recently with all the cheaters holding games hostage. If they weren’t so ignorant back then, they could have avoided that too aside from the average players not wanting to be locked in with a SM or killers being bullied by swfs. Very childish mindset by the devs.
I think having some conditions for lessening dc penalties would work better. Time in game, participation, etc. That way more people would quit without bypassing the new bot system too.
This feature might not work but I'd really like a feature where the player can pick 3 killers they absolutely don't want to face. So if a survivor picks Nurse, Skull Merchant and maybe Artist for example. They wouldn't get a match with those killers. This feature only works in solo queue. To give solo queres some type of edge above a 4 man.
I really do think BHVR seriously needs to balance and work on DBD's health since clearly not much is being improved. This would atleast tell BHVR straight to their face that survivors don't like going against certain killers. Since they care so much about stats.
Isn't conceding just disconnecting with no downsides? Imo, this is unfair to the winning side. They don't get to play out the match that is going well for them. Endgames literally disappear. No 4 person escapes. No last person having a chance at hatch. No 4Ks.
On the flip side of your "4 man SWF would give up and no one would play Skull Merchant" argument, I would also like to point out that if a killer isn't having fun in a match and wants to concede the likelihood of that happening is probably slim to impossible. There will always be those games where the killer just isn't having fun because of insert reason here and I worry that the survivors would be like "well were enjoying it because were not losing so git gud" and not allow the gg go next to happen.

Dc penalties are put in games so that you can't quit after queueing in ranked modes for games like OW or Siege. just remove the dc penalty and this achieves the same result. "aw man but what if all the survivors dc and I have to face camp bots instead of real players with lives?" then you can dc too. that simple.
i think removing the dc penalty at this point makes more sense. a concede feature will only be spammed, and being outvoted and forced to quit when you dont want to isnt healthy for this games solo queue which is already suffering.
I honestly don't think this would be a feature that Scott would want. The way it can be used for you, it can be used against you.
Downsides go far beyond how SWF's or data indicating how many people quit against the skull merchant. Since BHVR doesn't release specifics, for example how MMR works, or how pick rates are for certain killers at different levels. A concede feature can be used to group together people who use it often. Then people who don't use it often, play mainly within that group.
I imagine people in the group that concede often, will feature a lot of quitting. It would then be seen as a punishment for conceding, and we would be back at square one, also asking for conceding to be removed.
I've played a lot of Skull Merchant, Pinhead, and Sadako. Killers that are consistently rated as being the least fun to go against. Still seen a way higher percentage of insta-DCs against my trash Nurse. These are a significant minority of DCs in my games though. At least 80% of them are DCs because someone was found first. Someone was downed first. Someone made an oopsie in a locker, etc. Players in this game give up as soon as they think they can't win. I'm in favour of the concede option because at least then they're forced to wait a few minutes and see how wrong they might be.
the irony is that any killer will always wanna end when vsing what they thing is a strong swf, which unfortunately they think is every match these days
we can ask for better mechanical ways to fix problems, but the real ass answer is community change, and unfortunately i think we're too deep to ever change it.
killer made tunnel/camp meta to fight strong surv perks and swf, and when all that got nerfed, what incentive is there for those killers to not carry on like that? it worked before, it works better now.
community is so comp minded now that the game will never be like it used to be, and thats a sad truth. I dont hate on content creators but they massively played a part in the game becoming this way. I dont know why no one wants to admit this
They should put an alter to the killer in every match, survivors can sacrifice themselves to the killer directly as a conceded. If they do this instead of disconnecting they will still get the blood points they have earned and maybe even like a quarter of the escape bp, this provides a in world way to dc that is thematically consistent. The same way the killer could have an alter that when used locks the killer in place and notifies all survivors. This starts a 30 or 60 second timer where any survivor or number of survivors can come to the alter to “banish” the killer, netting banishers a large blood point bonus and ends the match with an escape. I think this provides an in game feature for those who want to stop playing and provides incentive to use the more thematic option.
It could be super easy as well, button on survivor would be a 4 vote, if they all vote, the entity kills all survivors. As killer, you simply press a button, and all the gens are completed and the doors open automatically, and they can speed up the timer too to encourage the survivor to leave immediately
Only possible issue I can see is with achivements. Someone, I think it was you uploaded a pretty awful match where 2 survivors just refused to make getting an achivement possible. It could be the same with this, there has to be either changes made to certain achivements, or a simple workaround of just giving the achivement you tried to get 10 times but end up with 10 conceded match or something.
But that's a way smaller issue than the ones we currently have that would be solved by adding a simple concede feature.
And any of the arising problems can be dealt with I think, by maybe make it impossible for 4 man SWF to concede, they can just kill themselves on hook, they hurt noone else then. Or just replace the survivor team with bots and the killer can still try the achivement or something.
But as I've seen someone say it, the devs don't care enough to even think about solving most issues. Or they just really can't see what their priorities should be.

In the same way there is a survivor bot, I think removing the DC penalty will need a killer bot so I can still attempt to get my rift done.
