  1. i might have just missed the part where you talk about this but if you cant cleanse ruin, are there a ban on the other hexes? how would the different hexes be distinguished from eachother to prevent accidentally cleansing ruin? Maybe you can cleanse after 1 or 2 gens left? <3 love the vids <3

  2. Honestly if you implemented ruin as a base mechanic it would be nice, maybe make it so gens naturally regress at the speeds they do without the perk and make it so kicking it increases the regression speed of the damaged generator to the current ruin standard. Maybe change ruin to instead gain token for kicked gens that increase the regression speed much more drastically to a maximum of per token.

  3. I think it is critical to this game to establish through this tournament you are planning to really show that this game at the top level has different balance issues than the lower tier play.

  4. My only issue is that ruin not being cleansed means you can’t exactly run other hex perks because the survivors wouldn’t know which ones they are and aren’t allowed to cleanse

  5. always wanted to play in a dbd tournament, tried it with friends but i’ve been playing for a while so my survivor ability is multiple times better than there’s, hopefully more people start hosting them.

  6. Perma-Ruin? That disables basically every gen kicking perk and other hexes. Third Seal, Devour Hope, Undying, Haunted Grounds, Blood Favor, Lullaby, Retribution, Thrill, Pop, Oppression, Trail of Torment, Overcharge, Dragon’s Grip, and even brutal strength/fire up won’t be as useful.

Ironically, NOED would be the only hex perk you could probably run because ruin doesn’t do anything after the gens are completed, so it won’t matter if it gets cleansed at that point.

  7. With your tourney idea, you're expressly banning slugging or at least mass slugging, right? Since it would destroy survivors in the mid game if killers were allowed to do that with no cleansing totems. Sure, the killer would lose a lot of hook points but survivors would obviously just not escape.

  8. what ever the final concept would be, I like the idea of having a standardized perk loadout. Maybe give like, three to chose from. Having ruin uncleanable would let killers have other strong perk combos

  9. For a tourney with ruin always active you'd probably have to ban all other hex perks so that ruin isn't accidentally cleansed. 1 use of a killer per team could be interesting but also make the tournament small (1 killer match per team per match up or 2?) and some teams may find it difficult to come up with players to play all killers of the game. Maybe a player limit bigger than 5 players per team? Maybe around 9 or 10 perhaps? Some teams will need subs on their players for schedules, work and having certain players that play certain killers ect. It would be a lot of work to make it work but it is certainly doable. I play in a league called Vigo's Court. Your rules are different but certainly interesting if you wanted to do something like that. Definitely more killer sided than most tournaments and the winning team would be that of the strongest killer most of the time which I find intriguing because I learned dbd from you over the years and over time I've practiced and I'm now doing league and I'm recognized in my league as a really strong killer and teams don't really mess around when it comes to vs me. To that I gotta thank you some. And good luck on the tournament, keep us updated I would probably ask my team if they want to play it tbf.

  10. The problem with "ruin by default" and "DS by default" is… if ruin can't be cleansed, it is far more powerful than 4 DSs. (And that's assuming DS gets used by all 4 survivors.) DS does nothing but extend a chase by 15-20 seconds. DS ACTUALLY needs to let the survivor get away for it to be effective anti-tunnel. The stun needs to be extended to 10 seconds, or the survivor needs to be given a mini iron will and mini "off the record" (so survivor makes no sounds, leaves no scratchmarks, maybe no blood either) after they DS a killer.

Most killers who want to tunnel just tunnel through DS. They'll camp the hook, tunnel the unhooked person, eat the DS, tunnel them more, then camp until they're dead. DS does nothing significant unless the survivor is decent at looping and legitimately gives them a second change.

I think killers should be negatively effected by DS more than they are. Give them a slowdown. Knock 115 killers down to 110 for 30 seconds or so. Give them a REASON not to want to be DSed. Right now DS is just an annoyance for killers. Make it game changing. Make it so that killers physically have to not tunnel if they want to win. My guess if this happens, killers will need a buff. But the games would be a hell of a lot more fun.

  11. One rule you could had to bring some diversity in a tournament, would be to do best of 3 matches with a rotation of 3 different killers. You could also have killer ranked by tier where winning with a low tier killer like Trapper grant more points than with stronger killer like Nurse or Spirit

  12. There's gen centred killers and hook centred killers. Obviously the latter makes for poor games but are the most common due to lack of experience and confidence. The best tournament format would centre around the gens play more but would take a practiced killer who doesn't mind losing a hook or two if it meant it was more fun.

  13. if it is PURELY based on hooks and not escapes what stops the survivors from just killing themselfes on hook and hoping 4th gets hatch though and it just being a coinflip if the enemy does the same? especially against strong killers like nurse this would be a guaranteed bad result for her while avoiding actually facing her.
