Sometimes teasers have barely anything to do anything important. Like for Trickster we got some random cup. Sure it's related to lore so that's probably what this is.
a new survivor item that can be placed and plays sounds until the battery runs out. rarity of the item determines the sound, like the brown one plays generator repairing sounds, yellow plays grunts of pain matched to your character, the best versions play sounds with notifications like fast vaults/lockers. maybe a purple one that plays loud music that drowns out all sounds in the radius.
addons can influence the range of the sound, battery life, a rare addon that lets you pick it up after placing to use elsewhere.
@Schmuckles I don't know about The Dredge, but I hope it's lore is interesting.
I think that this teaser definitely solidifies the recent leaks to be true, or at least tells us that Haddie will be the survivor. If you look at her perks in the leak, there is logs for something called "Ravages of the Abyss" that are followed by a number on two of her three perks. Therefore this tape with a number on it suggests that "Ravages of the Abyss" may be a series of cassette tapes that Haddie made, the numbers counting her entries. While having these connections in mind, this teaser probably does tie back to Haddie, at least in my opinion. Maybe Haddie, while chasing the Black Vale, recorded her findings with cassette tapes.

The only thing that I can think of the tapes is Springtrap, because in "Help Wanted" we had to get tapes to see glichtrap, but we already know that its not Springtrap and "Help Wanted" has less than 24 tapes, so yeah, no idea of what that means

I think at this point the leaks are true if all the dbd accounts turned off comments because the same happened with the artist, when they were teasing that chapter they were hiding all replies that posted the leaked screenshots which effectively made the leaks more believable
Weren't there leaks from the PTB of audio not narrated by the Observer? I wonder if the anniversary chapter will include collecting tapes or unlocking information from the new inhabitants of the tower or if it will simply be a new lore mechanism/mode

in before they are relatively silent about the whole leaks situation and teases but when they do the grand reveal on their anniversary livestream they actually troll us with an entirely different killer and survivor for a few hot minutes just to show that they knew it had been leaked so bad and to keep everyone on their toes

Feel like it should be like the radios from silent hill that let you hear the killers terror radius or static while they are undetectable, maybe you have to channel it like a key or a map
Maybe I'm losing my mind or something, but there is still a chance it could be Fnaf. Think about it: what was the one of the first sounds you heard at the start of each game? A prerecorded message from Phone Guy. It could also be referencing Tape Guy from Fnaf 6 because his messages were given to you via instruction tapes. Same with the Springlock tutorials in Fnaf 3. I know Fnaf is probably not the anniversary chapter, but at least I can hope 🙂
