Alex’s tool box was one of the developers of the game. Alex used the toolbox so often that they named if after them 🙂
I personally think these guys like Felix and Elodie seeked the entitys realm out, but the entity was too focused on getting the observer that these people had gone unnoticed, and now, instead of one man the entity will have a larger group of people to sort out.

I wonder if the aureus is what was keeping the observer alive. If he had truly been hidden from the entity then it's possible he also managed to severe himself from the entity's power which would make him vulnerable to time. This would make sense why when the aureus glitches he does too because it is what held him together long beyond what his body normally would have. Additionally what if all 3 versions of him are from his past, but when he obtained the aureus he was able to choose his age and appearance. This could also mean that his "young" version is when he first got taken by the entity, the middle version is when he started to lose his mind to the entity, and the bloody version is him after he had become a killer. I think he may have stumbled upon the aureus when he was a killer and he may have grabbed it out of curiosity only for him to suddenly have his sanity be brought back when he touched it.
