  1. Im very saddened that the lullaby is just a lower pitched version. It's a were-elk, make the lullaby some gross amalgam of eerie elk-calls that are seemingly mashed together by this beast to sound like the lullaby

  2. The big problem with equalizing survivor volume (and fixing these voice lines) is that it can't reliably be solved with volume – some sounds, at the same volume or even independently of volume, are more or less audible than others, for many reasons (pitch, register, rhythm, timbre, and the amount of sounds with similar pitch/register/etc. in the environment)

It's a design-level audio issue, and it's tricky – you see this solved in L4D with all the special infected having very unique audio cues, spawn music, etc. – but L4D didn't need to worry about adding new survivors and new sources for sound effects as often as DBD. When you add a lot of different voices, they have a lot of different properties, and trying to make the audibility match up… without rerecording lines with a whole different tone in mind… can be really hard.

It's unfortunate that they made this mistake with the new Huntress skin, and I reaaaally hope they learn that it can't be a post-patch consideration – it needs to be a design-time constraint.

  3. i always said ada also is a pay to win survivor because she is so quite especially with iron well the amount of times the killers lost me while playing as ada is insane compared to any other survivor

  4. Scott you need to calm down and realize that this is just an indie team working on a game that thousands of people play They can't keep up with the demand It took them over 5 years to fix a bug with plague she was supposed to lose her power when any stun happened to her. It's only fair to give them another couple years to fix equalizing survivor injured audio.

  5. Is it just me or did the game get like… Really good temporarily and then just out of nowhere went back to the same problems they've had since release. Also, something to take into account that makes the wind up even worse, with chase music it's essentially silent.

  6. The best thing they can do imo is swap out her current sound for the default lullaby so they remain consistent and fix a major issue. Or just fix all the audio in the game but im talking realistically here

  7. It's a shame that dead by daylight is a successful as it is. The developers are unworthy and lazy. They ignore the community and they also seem to have a very bad sense of work ethic or how their game works. Sadly because they got some licenses early on and nobody else did, nothing is really a threat to them so they have no incentive to actually put effort into the product.

  8. Yeah I faced a huntress last night with this skin and I have over 3300+ hrs in the game I’m pretty good not the best player out there but I had a jump scare with her she was all of sudden in the same T L wall and I didn’t notice her singing and she got hits on me cause I didn’t hear her hatchet as well I was like oh so quite

  9. Another funny thing is that they've also just proven that when push comes to shove they absolutely CAN force a hotfix to PC without waiting for console approval, something they've refused to do since we got crossplay. It just took potential epileptic seizures for it to happen.

  10. Can confirm, all it takes is to increase the number for the volume or if they're using blueprints, just change the number to be higher on the node and test it in the next 10 seconds.

  11. Scott telling us he has a skill issue without telling us he has a skill issue 🗿(ever tried to look behind you or pay some attention in chase?) Also , like , a lot of hits against huntress are the ones from a far distance with aura reading without survivors expecting .

  12. (reverted) were-elk's male voice was too hard to hear, so it's been reverted back to female.
(reverted) were-elk's animalistic grunt when readying a hatchet was too hard to hear, reverted back to the default "heh"

    thanks for the 30 bucks.

  13. So is dead by daylight, a party game or a competitive game? We keep saying it's a game just for fun. But then, when a skin comes out, we instantly lose our minds and say that it has an advantage or is competitively broken. But Then people say dead by daylight isn't a competitive game? Because it doesn't have a true competitive scene. So, is this truly a competitive advantage, or are we just trying to find things to complain about? 😂

  14. if the remove the advantages for the new skin its actually now Pay 2 lose (not just a cool skin) it makes the killer way taller by a lot with huge antlers that stick out means cant mind game at some wall loops anymore. 1:25

  15. a dev on the dbd forums has confirmed the noises of this skin to be changed in the future and also classified as a bug
as a sidenote, i don't think the "loudness" of survivors is as easy as a volume slider, although that's definitely a part of it. a spirit main has a very thorough analysis on all the survivor noises, and the pitch + consistency + the type of vocalizations they make play a huge part.

  16. My money is on them not fixing it and maintaining their incompetence. Ideal world, they'd fix this and then the other noise changes all at once, and use the excuse of "We figured this out after 3 years just in time to fix this pay-to-win problem too!" and I'd let them hide their laziness behind the excuse.

  17. the elk skin is kind of a thing, I suppose, but there is nothing forcing people to play a loud survivor. They are all the same character… if you choose the louder skin, it's because you wanted the louder skin.
