Wanna take a second to clarify my point/stats when I was playing Blight: My point WASNT the fact that my kill rate was so high, of course it will be when im playing the second best killer in DBD, My POINT was the CHANGE in my killrate from old DBD to the update. The jump from 73% to 91% was the point I was trying to make, not the fact that it was high in the first place. Sorry for not wording as well as I should have!
Also: for people saying the issue is only really an issue in solo queue: I respectfully disagree. Sure, a lot of coordinated 4 man swfs are still escaping, but for casual players who just play with friends and dont hyperfocus with clock callouts, the update is still rough for them. Please try and keep your perspective on the wider DBD community, and not just high MMR swfs.
The DbD is not for new players. It's time to repel them all so they never even think to come back 😀

It's just laughable that SELF CARE was nerfed and coh is fine??? I am so glad you brought that point up because I have been a user of both perks (separately) shortly after Mikaela came out, and Ive heard the hatred of it for that duration as well. Why coh was left as is, being far more powerful than self care, and was more powerful than self care before this recent patch, is insane! How was this allowed??

I also definitely agree that games are just miserable now for the entire team… a lot of killers tend to just tunnel or camp now, even with the buffs that were supposed to help reduce that playstyle… On top of that, playing by myself with around 500 hours total in the game, almost every solo queue game I play is a loss. I played about 8 the other day and only survived one because a NURSE gave me the exit gate. I'm not the most experienced player obviously, but I have an understanding of game sense considering I've played other games that need it too, and this is just insane. Even when I play duos, most games end before the last gen is done. Very rarely do we get all gens done and escape together because the killer was just incompetent, or the map was oppressive for them.
Wait wait waaaait. Hold up. You lost me at comparing 883 games pre-patch to 25 games post patch. That is seriously about 1/35th.
That is a REMARKABLY skewed result, no matter how you slice it. You also note that you played a "variety of different builds" in that 25 games, but that also tells me that you were using EXTREMELY small sample sizes to determine their efficiency in games. Even just 3 builds would only be 8 games per build.
Considering A LOT of game mechanics shifted just a little bit, I would also say that new players might actually have an ADVANTAGE over you now. Because you have habits for playing the game that need to be unlearned or tweaked due to times on attacks, kicks, and generators being adjusted.
I am 100% of the mind that the only thing that causes losses for survivors is SOMEONE on the team making several mistakes. Usually poorly thought out altruism. Playing survivor, I notice that I am doing a minimum of 3 gens solo every game. 0 to 100. Playing Killer, I notice survivors are STILL greeding pallets like they have the old Dead Hard equipped. I see survivors STILL relying on DS as their de facto anti tunnel perk. Either side, I see survivors literally run TO the killer after they're unhooked…really banking on that 5 seconds. I STILL catch survivors doing endgame rescues without 99'ing gates.
People aren't changing their playstyle to accommodate the changes. It's like giving them a motorcycle after they've been riding a bicycle all their life and watching them doing pedaling motions to get it to move for 3 hours. I can see there's no pedals…they can see there's no pedals…EVERYONE can see there's no pedals, but they just keep trying to do what they've been doing for years before saying it doesn't work
This game is dying. After Turkey's (The Dredge's release), the active player count dipped once more after a month. It's been losing players since MMR was implemented. This update is making more people upset and I know some friends who've outright stopped playing.
This can kill their game off if they aren't careful. New killers won't save it. The formula seems destined to fail.
I stopped playing survivor since the update it is no longer balanced and like yourself I am a seasoned player now playing solo is just rage and not a good time.
I think this is a reasonable video and you have many good points. I agree with touching the gen speed was a big mistake. You almost exclusively see regression perks and killer who benefit from them like tana legions. Not only is it super boring sitting on a gen for 2 minutes straight it makes escaping nearly impossible. I have seen really bad killers getting a 4k with 3 gens left. It's just too much.
me and my friends would play 4 to 6h of dbd before update and even when loosing 3 games in a row we would have some fun, now we play one game a day because its just frustrating even as a 4man team to play against any killer, i feel like i get punished so much more then before for a misplay while the killer even when missing m1's gets to catch me again without a sweat. When playing killer tho, i was mediocre, cenobite and artist were 2 killers wich i got for fun yet i would have been bullied the whole game as my killer games are weak, while playing plague, wich is my main, i would get usually a 3k-4k now after update i dominate so hard the game while everything being in my hands(every action of the survivors) it feels unfair. I ranked from ash 1 to silver 3 in 7 games of cenobite, all of them being full iridescent and by all means im really bad at cenobite compared to plague.
At the end of the day i stopped playing dbd at all as the survivor main cries while i dominate with any killer and i cry when i get dominated by any killer. This is what dbd should have been from the start, the killer with the entity on his side dominating the survivors wich try to escape. Yes it would make an great movie and an great experience the first 2-3 matches but when a streamer or like me and my friends used to play, hundreds of games monthly, this whole feeling of "im powerless infront of some cold blooded killer anything i would do" destroys the long term fun and i think the tunneling is worse then before aswell as killers get to shut down chases way quicker now even tho survivors could get 3 health states with off the record or an extra hit at the start of the chase with bt/built in endurance thats their only hattrick/hidden gem and once it wore off or popped the killer got all the possibilities in the world to put you on hook again and repeat that again, I know because if i would play killer and i would encounter an toxic survivor pre dropping elite pallets just so i can break them and he could maybe blind me i would tunnel him yet still go after the other survivors but he would be an priority to me and even while tunneling someone and still going for others(he wouldn't be a priority if there were multiple fully healed survivors in the area) he would dies first and eeverything collapse for the survivors after that
Im loving these buffs ngl, im a free to play player, and i progress pretty slowly, i feel like i can actually do something now with non meta perks instead of players who have access to the entire arsenal right off the back
Doesnt need to be reverted. Survs need to readjust is all. DH has been meta for years. Having that nerfed so hard has removed a lot of peoples crutch. The impact of DH's very existence changed the way killers played in every chase.
The fact you think gen speeds were never a problem tells me everything i need to know tbh. Even if u force survs to spawn near each other good survs will just split up anyway and solo 3 gens

the fact remains that survivors need to play better and that is the only issue with the game and nothing else apart from some little bugs and some of the maps being stupid
even as a killer main this game is WAY 2 easy just quit they will see the numbers and fix it but knowing them it will take 3 to 6 months cause there don't know what there doing as a company and the game will die by then if no one is playing survivor no one will be able to play killer its that simple

Completely agree, just delete the new patch completely and revert the game back yo how it was.. there was nothing wrong with it.. I play killer and survivor.. I was getting 4k consistently and I could escape as survivor.. perks wer fine deadhard was fine.. people are just snowflakes
Nah i think u make no valid point in my opinion. To clarify, Im a very below avrg casual player that plays just to pass time, but i rly rly love this game … I can barely loop as a srvr or counter loop as a Killer, but hey not everyone as the time to just "get good"
So i started playing 3 yrs ago and I was up to this last patch a main srvr, bcs every time I played killer i was bullied to the ground … ye the meta was srvr only, u cant denie that, DS, DH, BT, SC, and the boons? Ye that was a bullying simulator for the killers, this updts r a breath of fresh air to the game in general … The game concept is to fear the killer, not to just go take a piss on them (in a game with similar skill players) so ye …. and tunneling and camping? Well Thei r playing choices, why do srvrs can gen rush and do objectives and the killer just have to let them? No logic in that, I tunnel and I camp and I win as a killer now so ye …
I agree to most of your points and the reason for that is that all of these changes came through at once. We, the part that matters, the players never tested these changes individually and saw how they affected a match. We never tried New DH vs old everything else for example.
You dislike the 10% faster swipe, you might be right, we don't know how that would affect games if everything else stayed the same. Maybe the 10% faster swipe in combination with survivors getting 10% less distance makes it so survivors actually get 20% less distance just in base, which then coupled with good chase powers or STBFL makes it so survivors can't get anywhere. It's opressive without necessity.
This is BHVR being BHVR they just gave in, made a very killer friendly patch and the results are exactly as expected.
I agree that the 10% kicking speed boost should remain, and we can do away with either the faster swipe or the less distance survivors make from speed boost. Considering they don't really have E for Distance anymore, we can reach a good middle compromise where killers can get faster kicks but not faster kicks and faster recovery to account for the fact survivors get less distance already and the change to DH prevents the artifical gain of distance.
Just like i said, we never tested each of these elements individually and i bet neither did BHVR… AS good for killers as this patch is, it's still a BHVR patch which means manny things were clearly untested and overlooked. It's a good patch for M1 killers, they really neded it but BHVR has forgotten how much more opressive the already opressive killers get because they also benefit from every base game change. It's a MASSIVE OVERSIGHT.
Why is DS dead? I don't see why it should be, deactivating on EGC might still be too much of a change. IF you didn't get to use DS during match before EGC and it deactivates during EGC then you can still go from unhooked to dead in 1 hook. That scenario is a bit extreme but it still happens so that means some unlucky people will be caught in this scenario where the one thing that could save them doesn't even exist anymore.
Take Bubba FaceCamping someone as example, with gens taking 10 more seconds, that's 10 more seconds a guy is getting camped. IF that 1 guy counts for a Thana stack then that gen is taking even longer which just means even more camping. It's riddiculous.
I got only 65+h in game but like you said killer become much easier (I'm killer main) I started wining most of games kinda too op and update was kinda killer sided
firstly based on those numbers you are a survivor main that has barely touched killer. 2nd the GOOD survivors have adapted and I am getting escapes again. So ask yourself, were you ever actually good or did you rely on overpowered perks? They don't want to do knee jerk changes. Stop complaining like reddit and just adapt. The good survivor players have already adapted and got much better in a weeks time. 3rd point also, I can only laugh that its been a survivor sided game for 5 years and its barely been 2 weeks of a killer sided game and people lose their minds lol. Going to also be honest 67% when you add SWF is low… Also those perks you see every game for killers is NEW. When did people ever use overcharge, thano, or brine before the update? Just stop this copium lol.
To be fair
1. you are using one of the best killers
2. your mmr is extremely low (never play killer)
3. played only 12 games during the first week of patch where msot survivors were playing like garbage and learning to adapt.
4. I doubt you were even in silver in those games
People are adapting and getting better, you should also. How have you played this game for 5 years and have barely touched killer? (because killer was harder)
