I think it's really unfortunate that this Killer came out during the peak of "Haste" perks. He's one of the only top tier Killers that really suffer from Survivors being 3% or 7% faster and it feels pretty awful.
also every time i see survivors on a gen and slipstream one of them they just emp before i can charge the teleport, meaning it feels like such a waste of time
Console player here. I don’t touch any killer that isn’t “controller friendly”. No nurse no huntress no billy no oni no sing no slinger no blight. Believe me I’ve tried them all. It’s already bad enough dealing with the normal Jank of the game and then to add on top of it precision with analog sticks pffft, I’m good plus it’s already been beat into us controller players that it’s only ever a skill issue so fuck it why bother.
In all honesty he is just a unfun killer, I mostly play killers with high skill ceiling’s like Pyramid and Blight. I play most of the roster but I have zero interest in him.
The EMP's are just a boring mechanic to me. You have to effectively play chess while the counter play is checkers. I much prefer skill based anti power vs a button press.
okay I tried him during the anniversary and I will say your first point is on point (heh), I felt really disoriented a lot of times when playing him, another issue is honestly, I found myself being really frustrated trying to play him (and again this is a learning issue – need to learn, but the process felt really annoying) with main reason being that valid placement of his pods didnt feel intuitive, I would try to place pods during chase or generally and be like – nope, nope, red, no, OK STOP WHERE CAN I PLACE IT?! Like there is a limitation in height and so much clutter does not allow you to place it on it.
He came out around the Anniversary Event, when all the other killers and survivors were 50% off both shards and cells. That's also a very important reason. He'll eventually get more playerbase. He is hard to use, but he is also fun to use so not a big deal.
I'm on Console and I fucking adore him over any other killer. He's not as hard as you might think with controller, but for sure you need some map knowledge (and I've wasted 3k hours on this ass game so I don't mind that).
Only thing I'd change is when you're physically able to see the survivor behind some leaves and it doesn't infect them, and the range of cameras being limited. That and Lery's. And RPD. Fuck RPD.
For me, one i didnt have much time in general to him this month, but when i did i played singularity and i had soooo much hope for him. In reality, after a few matches where i got my ass kicked while i was learning, which is fair, i feel that i became decent with him, and still the matches where very fast and i didnt have time to slingshot, follow, hit, hit(or slingshot again cause of emp), after a few chases the match was already over. I know its probably a skill issue on my part, but i felt that he is too slow at killing, given the fast pace of gens nowdays. I also played with other killers for dailies and have a very good win ratio so i feel that the singularity is the problem(or more probably my lack of skill with him i guess), in the end i got a but denoralized and im not so pumped to play him anymore. One thing that i maybe get wrong is i lose a lot of time in the beginning of the match to set up pods, even with corrupt i think i lose too much time and should try and dont set up initially and just chase. Second i okayed on lerrys… oooh boy lerrys with the cames of the pods… i've never felt more disoriented in my entire life i swear, and i'm pretty good on orienting myself irl and in game usually. Then i have to be better at aiming and shooting, i use a controller and sometimes i take just a bit too much to aim and the survivors turns the corner and its gone.
I have played Singularity quite a bit over the few weeks he's been oyt, however I'm one of the few people who play him on controller which makes him more difficult to play.
I still love the killer tho and pulling off the quick camera tps or infections into tps is really satisfying, wish more people gave him a chance.
Sadly it is true that he is very anti-controller. I only played a few games with bots when he came out and i was so sad to realise this. Singularity seems so fun and interactive so it sucks he's just for PC players.
Yeah it’s basically down to the difficulty. I also don’t like killers that don’t function very directly – i.e I want to chase survivors (as basic as that sounds), not manage other things that result in me getting a little closer to a survivor. He’s sort of a worse Dredge to me, as it’s faster to teleport to lockers and get the jump on survivors rather than mess around with biopods etc. And yes, console controls make him harder to play as there’s some aiming involved.
Similar to pin head, learning and using his power is such a what ever moment. Yes its good, but not very fun as the reward. At least with huntress or a blight the reward is fun and interesting when u do something skilled.
He's actually one of the easiest but strongest killers to play on console if you have some map knowledge.
Like, Nurse to me is impossible, Huntress yea but I've played her too much, Blight's sensibility is fucked, Wesker is ass on controller, Spirit is boring, Hag got tired, Bubba's boring, Cenobite's hard, Deathslinger got tired, Oni's hard, Demo's too mid, same with Nemy, Artist got tired, PHead you should tunnel, Twins is ass to me, and whatever.
Singularity is more controller-friendly than ANY of these, he's strong, he's fun as fuck, he's perk-friendly and doesn't require shitty playstyles. He doesn't even take too much time to learn. It took me around five matches to actually use my power more efficiently. I can imagine it would be way harder for newer players though, so that might be why.
I love the killer, the idea of him, and he is one of my newer mains (next to Demo, Huntress, and Dredge) but his main power (cameras/pods) doesn't feel very well optimized I guess? When I play him at least 1-2 people will ALWAYS have an EMP so in most matches only 1 person will ever be slipstreamed meaning I either have to quickly place a pod and infect someone before I actually start chasing them (giving them a bit of distance) but usually a team mate comes in and EMPs the area after. Besides that type of stuff, sometimes when you place a pod by a gen, it wont let you get LOS even tho you can clearly see the survivor (just the little reticle icon wont appear) meaning I can watch the survivor complete the gen on the other side of the map but have 0 way to get to them just like if the pod was EMP'd (sometimes I'll place 2 pods for 2 angles and farther away from each other, but sometimes they both get EMP'd). If I do get LOS, as soon as the survivor notices, they'll hide and EMP, then the gen gets done. If the survivors are newer-ish and dont EMP as much, the game is a lot more fun, you can have fun chases and use your power, use your pods and pop up on people by gens and such or actually be able to shoot at people when in chase, I just personally notice in higher "elo" matches where people have high prestige characters, I typically seems to struggle a bit with him (maybe I just have the wrong perks). If you could infect people by shooting them (but maybe have a 15sec cooldown for shooting if infected that way) I think that would solve some of my issues, or reduce the EMP range by a slight amount.
I simply don't like him. His design etc. Regardless of how powerful he is. I play Skull Merchant because i like her design and concept of her power even if from gameplay perspective she is badly designed. I don't run 3 gen builds though.
Been playing this killer a lot on console since he’s come out and oh man, I’m bad or he’s hard or maybe I’m just plain unlucky, because I can think of two times I’ve won games since I’ve picked him up, one of which was on dead dawg where I tunneled. Don’t know if it’s a console thing or what but he has been brutal. I love the idea of his power though so I shall continue to try him
He has way too many little things that are just annoying. Getting super slowdown because you used your pods too close to a hook, shooting something 5 times to place a pod but it won't place even though the cursor is green and it suddenly goes red, trying to teleport on someone n placing a pod instead, not being able to slipstream someone because you apparently have to be able to see like 80%+ of their body (cant even tag someone going up the stairs on Ironworks cmon), lack of feedback when someone gets EMP'd and you don't realize n waste time still trying to teleport on them. The fact that his power isn't even good in chase if there are connecting tiles and that survivors can deny you using your power to begin with just makes this guy not worth playing.
Singularity is basically the killer i play if i feel like i want to sweat. Not because I really want to win, but i feel like i have to sweat just to do average with him. And in this case I don’t even mean tunneling, or slugging,or being very aware of the match. But i feel like im competing against myself, both with the mechanical ability (console), the awareness of every pod I’ve placed, and how much i feel like i can use the power without overusing it. It also feels like the matches i lose are hard stomps with little information on what I could have done better. It feels sometimes like theres a lack of feedback in the match about how i should have done better, as opposed to a killer like wesker. The obvious thing I could have done better was hit the bound, pepe looser.

i dont like his m1 animation

Ive only watched people play him, his power looks like a whole load of nonsense… isnt he just doing the same stuff as hag or nurse ?

i have only gone against 2-3 Singularitys
