  1. I only kill myself on hook in one scenario: If it's my first hook, and I see my teammates aren't even attempting to come get me…if they are just going about their tasks…I don't try to take myself off hook until I'm about to go to stage 2, but if I do go to stage 2…..I don't try to stay alive. I guess my teammates don't want to save me, so I'll just die and try again next game.

  2. This can be fixed but most probably wont like these changes. Instead of a matchmaking penalty, give players a quitters curse. At 1 stack, you no longer gain endurance after an unhook. You still have off the record and DS, but if you don't have those perks you're SOL if the killer decides to tunnel you. At 2 stacks, endurance itself no longer works, and DS is disabled. At 3 stacks, the killer now has lethal pursuer for you only, distortion cannot block it. At 4 stacks, the killer now sees 3 crows above your head so that they know you have quitters curse. You can gain an infinite number of stacks after 4.

I would also rework attempting to unhook yourself. You get one attempt, which has the same chance as the original 3, and it just cuts the timer in half. 35 seconds is still long enough to prevent someone from killing themselves on first hook. For second hook, failing 2 skill checks no longer kills you, but it still reduces the timer each time you fail.

For a single disconnect you get no curse, but after the first disconnect you gain more and more stacks for each disconnect. Completing a match removes a stack. So if you disconnect 3 times in a row, you'd get 0, 1, 2 stacks for 3 stacks of quitters curse total. The whole point of disconnecting is to get out of games that are difficult/tunneling so if you make the penalty for disconnecting exactly what they're trying to avoid then those people won't disconnect. Problem is they might just quit the game lol.

  3. I don't think it's bad to dc since you get bots to replace you and sometimes the bots are better than the real players ngl. Someone else has said it already, but if anything people should dc more, in the sense that I'd rather you dc so the bot comes out than you killing yourself on hook or staying afk and being useless. Also i wish there was a way for the game to know if you dc on purpose or if your pc crashed/internet connection sucks/pc got unplugged cause you moved it slightly by accident. Like make it so the game knows if you pressed the botton to dc or alt f4'ed and only take away bloodpoints and such if you do it on purpose, not when you didn't even want to do it. Idk if that's possible, but i think it is? I wish it is anyway. Like i was playing a match as killer and i was winning and then my internet connection went bye bye because there was a storm irl, right after i hooked somebody as well, so well i got disconnected and the match ended. Like that was not a purposefull dc, why would i dc when I'm winning + in the middle of the match? Gimme the bloodpoints i earned.

  4. I made a Reddit post about the whole DC situation and from what I gathered it seems people are upset with solo Q. However I don’t think solo q is the problem as DBD has been very generous with giving information on the HUD. You know what your team is doing, who is being chased and Gen progress. Back then unless you paid attention to names in the lobby, you couldn’t even tell who was injured as there wasn’t even portraits yet. I think it’s mostly a problem with burn out and not willing to admit it or switch games. It doesn’t matter if everyone else is on Gens with 70% progress, they will leave if they go down first.

  5. DBD has been intolerable for me with my life circumstances to CONSTANTLY be frustrated in a game that’s supposed to be fun for me. The new MMR system really made me quit months ago like when Chucky came out but I stopped playing a lot a little before that. Skyrim is way less frustrating man. If I try DBD and get tunneled immediately or whatever I’ll DC and if there’s a penalty, welp, back to Skyrim

  6. My opinion is that this game is a huge social problem and here's why: games like DBD influence people's psychological side. Killing never should be easy and enjoyable. You can laugh at it but hey, do you remember we're not allowed to tell someone "K*ll your*elf" for a reason?? For the last year killer's perks become more and more over powered. Too many aura reading perks. As we know there are different types of survs. I prefer to hide and be stealthy. So far im able to enjoy it with distortion and calm spirit. I still get chases, but all my 3 stacks of distortion are gone in 10 secs. Do you realize how overpowered killers right now??? They basically see you 90% of the time. With the new update of distortion i won't be able to play the way i want. Is it fair? Absolutely not. It destroys game's original idea. It's all about easy kill. And mentally i hate it. The way people become more and more mentally screwed up humping you as a killer, hitting you on the hook? Don't you see a live person behind it? That behavior shouldn't be supported and buffed. There is an easy mechanic against camping and tunneling, and it's not an unhook bar. Once killer hooked a survivor – he loses special ability around 20 meter near hook (oni can't dash, nurse can't blink, myers can't stalk…). Also they get slowed down if they're chasing just unhooked person. With this changes they can nerf repairing gens. I don't mind having longer chases if they are fair and i wasn't just unhooked and tunnelled. Behavior worries about killers being able to hook survivors in the same corner if they didn't think in advance what hook to use better so the removed the dead hooks from the game. What about 3gen then? Why behavior didn't help surv with this problem? To make a perk that could relocate the progression of finished gen to unfinished? Dbd is really a killer rewarding game. Feels like they are psychos

  7. Fix dc and people will just kill on hook. You cant dictate how players play the game. I rather see someone dc and have a bot playing than killing themselves on hook. It's not players fault most new players and casuals suffer because some elite players made the game copetitive.

  8. this might be a beaten down topic, why not just introduce quick match and ranked modes, it works on db mobile which is a smaller player pool, infact the reddit for db mobile is full of people trying out builds in quick match and play the game for fun and ranked is regular db and you get rewards, pfp frames and shards based on your ranking for the season

  9. What makes me dc? The clown, the clown makes me dc. Theres nothing i could ever despise as much about this game as i do the clown. Such an obnoxious character. The smoke, the screaming, the nauseous filter, the disgusting mori… I just cant deal with it and i refuse to.

  10. How do people feel about them making ranked matchmaking and trying to implement it in game? Making a more casual setting for people who complain about sweats and implementing a punishment system for those who throw games

  11. This game is a casual one, people who thinks is ranked is wrong, the unbalance is something they cant fix properly, thats why official tournaments doesnt exist, and I always gonna choose my own peace and mental health, I just use my first DC for Legion 😂😂😂 I have like 9 months withput playing against him and im happy 😂, is just a game, dont take it seriously ❤

  12. Uh they haven’t done anything for 7 years, except a dumb dc penalty that they turn off every other patch. Only way to fix it is for creators to actually quit playing and promoting DBD. I took a year break and came back and maybe have 20 hours of playing since chucky because nothing has actually changed. Devs still oblivious or refuse to take responsibility and the community has become even scummier than we were in the first 3 years of abusing every piece of spaghetti code in the game. Worst part is I love this game, I love what it was but somewhere the whole community lost what made DBD special.

  13. The DC penalty should be removed for killer, imo. If the killer dc's, the survivors auto win. There is only 1 killer, its not like dcing as killer is gonna have a negative affect on your team because you are your team.

  14. 5:37 yeah thats because nurse just completely breaks the game. Her power is just a complete joke compared to every other killer. If the devs were to release nurse the way she is today, theres ABSOLUTELY no way her power would stay as it is. The amount of backlash would be off the charts, and they'd basically be forced into giving her a full rework. As much as i agree with u about giving up instantly, it is absolutely justifiable when ur against a killer as stupidly op as nurse. Theres just not even a point in trying to play against her because u aren't gonna win

  15. people who suicide on first hook need to just put the game down and play something else, if you're gonna screw over 4 other people's fun simply cause you dont know how to deal with your baby rage, you dont need to play

  16. If you take away the DC penalty then players that DC a lot gets I❤DC hats on their characters heads or on their name for a period of time if they play in a SWF who cares. But if they solo queue players and killer gets to see this and choose if they want to play with them. As for dying on first hook survivor must stay and watch the match even if you turn off your system. As for the killers who tunnel get a massive point penalty making it less likely to pip because because the entity wants you to tenderize the survivors before the entity consumes them. 12 hooks massive point buff. Less hooks more point penalties.

  17. I just report the people who kill themselves on hook or dc right off the bat. I HATE when ppl do that. This is why i dont play with randoms cuz most of them are trash. Static partys stay the norm for me. Dbd needs to differentiate the penalty for specific dc's. Some ppl dc by connection issues and they get penalized, that isnt fair, it should only affect those who dc at will. Also BHVR should seperate modes with ranked and casual to remove the trash ppl from actual good ppl who don't dc or jeopardize the team. And give long dc penalty for ranked mode compared to casual.

  18. certain killers need to just get fixed, like skull merchant, if you play skull you cant complain someone dc when you try to force a 3 gen. it is what it is. As in, DBD needs to stop releasing new killers for a few months and fix their game, if they want to fix these problems for the most part.

  19. I think they should take away the hook timer and make it so you can only unhook self if the anti camping mechanic is activated or they have deliverance. Doing this would not only counter survivors from killing themselves on hook but it counters tunneling as well because a tunneling killer cant tunnel out someone if they are hooked still and making it more viable for the team to work on gens until they can get in to get an safe unhook.

  20. Okay devil’s advocate here but. It’s hard to stay in a game where 2 are on death hook and only one gens gets one. Sometimes it genuinely feels like my teammates are working against me. Why stay in a match if Ik I’m going to lose. At that point I’m only playing for other people and not myself. For example I played 4 hours w my sister and got out only a couple times. Like that’s insane to me. I’m super casual and just want to get some loops.

  21. i only find it pointless if i run into cheaters, that magically finds you without any aura perks, and thats not all, not just once, but every minute of the match, another reason i instantly kill myself on the hook is seeing survivors working with the killer to take me out for no reason, or survivors just doesn't want to lift a finger to help at all, just stare you down like a sick dog

    Reply
  22. Nah, they gotta fix the game first lmao.
And then players will stop quitting. I’m really tired of people just summing the issue up as a skill problem.
    “People don’t like to lose.”
And yeah I’m sure that’s a reason, but the bigger reason has always been Dbd just isn’t a fun game to play solo. It’s completely unbalanced, it’s always been unbalanced, and you have a lot of the more seasoned players trying to gaslight newer players by not presenting a proper meta.
The fact is, certain killers are just so broken that they aren’t fun to play against-
And those killers are the best for new players because they’re so easy.
But seasoned dbd players will lie and say those killers are trash.
And then they make tier list that aren’t accurate-
They never acknowledge the major advantage pc has-
It’s never been a newbie friendly game.
Sometimes you go on and you’ll find the same people all day.
And people don’t want to get stomped, it’s not about losing-
It’s about never getting the chance to play.

It’s not fun to go up against 4 pc players who are gonna 360 me (which is literally cheating because when you 360 you fuck with the killers lunge tracking).

Same as it’s not fun to go up against a fully built Wesker or Nurse or Spirit.
Dredge and Chuckie were also issues, half the roster of killers literally have ways to stop survivors defenses.
What tf is even the point of pallets when half the killers can still hit me through the pallet.

  23. There's no reason to penalize anyone for disconnecting. They have bots now, by forcing people to REMAIN in the game to avoid penalization, you force people to stupid extends to leave earlier.
But if they want to minimize it, they should do what some FPS do, if someone disconnects A LOT start matching them with others that do the same until you start playing properly, and repeat if necessary.

  24. d/cing isnt that big a problem because they give us a bot, so at least its still a 4v1. they just need to figure out how to penalize those who give up on first hook, especially at 4-5 gens. consequently, this would also allow them to differentiate kill rates so that they dont include this number which might make their killer reworks change as well.

  25. Since Rank based match making is near useless this many years into the game, Cross-Play between console/pc is your next best bet. We all accept the PC master race players will consistently be the best top tier players. Have an option in crossplay to avoid pc players if desired. (Currently disabling crossplay locks you into your own console network) The top 15% players can sweat it out on themselves, think we will be perfectly fine playing with other average players looking for a regular game.

  26. I think we would see a lot less dc:s if there was at least tiniest bit of control on who we face. So my suggestion is that players could choose 1(or max 2) Killers they prefer not to face, and 1 or more they would very much like to face. Players could update preferences from settings. Killers already can dodge lobbies if they see names or items or groups they don't like, so I don't think this would be unfair. Playing with a group of people with different unfavoured killers would be the edge case. Choosing a prefered killer(s) would put the player on a limited duration "waiting list" to see if someone you like is available, say 1-5 min max extra waiting time. There could maybe even be an option on looking for a match screen to switch between normal and prefered que. In either case (whether it's due to no prefered or too many not prefered killers being available) if there is no suitable match up in that 4-5mins or so the player just gets put in the the usual que. I think having this easy and limited option would help us players avoid some of the matches we dislike the most, and maybe have at least a feeling of control on who we face. So if I am just tired of getting Wraith games one after another I will just update my preference to look for anything else than Wraith games. And perhaps hope that I land in a nice Wesker match instead. And in the of chance that simply everyone playing dbd picks their most disliked killer to be one single character? I think that should really paint a nice and clear picture to Behaviour that there are issues they should probably deal with ASAP.

  27. My solution is get rid of self removing from the hook, EXCEPT if you're the only survivor left or if the gates are open. Perks like Adams where you can guarantee a get off hook after saving a teammate could still be applicable. Posting half way through the video so if you mentioned it here my b for repeating lol.

  28. I play DBD like its a party game with friends in private matches, the only times I ever DC is because of my sound sensitivity issues especially with certain killers, usually we just let me chill then we go again…cant really play without sound yknow

  29. From the opinion as someone who plays killer. I love it, I don't mind losing because I know I am not the best and there will always be someone better than me. However, nothing frustrates me more than toxic survivors who feel the need to just stand in the exit gate and t-bag until the timer runs out. Why is this important? Because over time it has degraded the end game collapse for any player I am playing against, even if they are the rare exception and had no plan on being toxic. What I do at this point is observe health status and hook status, if I determine there is no point I plant myself in a corner and wait for them all to leave, as you can expect this has led to some post-game messages about where I was, and why I didn't chase them.

I do not want to have to do that, it removes a core part of the game that I could otherwise spend trying to get at least one down but I come first, I am more important than the players I play against and I will not subject myself to a situation I know will make me angry so I remove that possibility and as such very very rarely get upset when playing DBD, I believe a change needs to be made to the end game collapse to stop rewarding behavior such as described above. It may seem like a small change but it could revive end game collapse chases and stop players like me from "Soft-DC'ing".
