I love with every killer he traps them in some sort of way but with Wesker he just taps him on the shoulder and is like "Here. Have some of the serum"

As an Oni main, the sign could have easily been: "The body of Rin's father is here". Even if he doesn't like/care Rin (As she would most likely hate him for starting the family's curse), her father used his family's sword to kill 2 defenseless women, which realistically is a like a cardinal sin in his books. He wouldn't realize what the blight did until long after the effects start happening
