  1. When Scott tried to trap Rosie on the whole does it matter what skill level you have to be to capitalize on mistakes as killer, I feel like they were mixing up capitalizing on mistakes to noticing mistakes. What Rosie should have said is “I believe any killer no matter what level can capitalize off of survivors mistakes, but it does require more skills to notice every mistake and notice them quickly so you can capitalize faster and more frequently.”

  2. Hey. Awesome to see discussions about the game. I do feel to tell you something about the sbm system and balance from my point of view.
I think some important things were not mentioned.
First of all, Im convinced that dbd is a casual party game. The devs often mentioned that the fun factor is the most important thing. So to keep it short, this game is not made for streamers, playing daily several hours. If you talk about the sbm, it is a good thing regarding the idea of this game. Ofc it is a nightmare for those who pour in a lot of time, but tbh these players dont matter. The balance of this game is a completely different matter than matchmaking. The current matchmaking is bad for casual players and very good for 5k+ hours players. Casuals get pretty unfair matches and very ecperienced players profit from this bad matchmaking. I do understand that streamers enjoy the content they get by, most of the time, easy stomps against casuals. But you guys need to understand that if sbm gets implemented and you wait 1 hour for a match and only get sweaty swf or the same 2 killers all over again, its the punishment for playing this game for far too much and how its not meant to be. If you discuss a topic in a little circle of people with the same bias its just nonsense.
It doesnt matter what the devs do in the future. Fact is, a sbm will improve the matchmaking for the majority of players. And like the devs said, it doesnt matter what a win is, the question is, did you enjoy yourself and had fun? So this is the answer to balance in this game.

  3. I was really impressed with CptSalty. A lot of his viewpoints are exactly how I feel and look at things. I’ve already heard Rosie before, but it’s cool to give these guys some exposure

  4. Good discussion, Rosie was actually tolerable here. Unfortunately the way they act in their videos and comment sections just fucking reeks of immaturity being thinly veiled as high intelligence. He has a good point or two but really does not help his case in the way he presents them (again, outside of this video, mainly on his own channel/community). Way too quick to letting emotions heavily influence behavior in debating/argument presenting from insulting/mocking other people and telling their community to not interact with those people in his videos. Like, it feels like a really bad Joker impression in how over the top and dramatic he is at times, almost like a middle schooler who saw a movie character they really liked and started copying all of their traits and characteristics at school. How you present your argument, regardless of the argument, is a factor in the manner. People are much more willing to listen, or even agree to, your opinion or stance if you don't come off as a manchild.

Good video from the rest, nonetheless.

  5. if i would make a point against mmr is that every asymmetrical game that had a hidden mmr system died. these kind of games are too imbalanced to work that way and i think people are expecting too much

  6. Im not a streamer or anything, but I have about 4k hours in this game and I love discussing dbd. Idk how open this podcast is to guests but I’d love to talk to you guys for a bit and feel out what you guys think is good for the game.

  7. Maybe I just didn’t hear it, but I don’t think anyone discussed pacing in this game. The pace of the game is completely reliant on the survivors. In theory, if they wanted they could end a game in 3-5 minutes, or have it last 15-20 minutes. You could be the #1 killer in the world and still get smoked by a team of competent survivors. You can intervene with the gens to try to slow them down, but if the survivors are efficient, they’ll spread out on gens and pop 3 of them before you even win 1 chase. This is also taking into account that maybe the team has 4 really good loopers. That game is basically unwinnable. We see what happens when there’s even just 1 good looper, now imagine 3-4 of those. That’s just my view on it
