Scouting Survivors w/ Torn Novel Houndmaster! | Dead by Daylight

Utilizing one of the ultra rare addons for Houndmaster called “Torn Novel”, this addon lets you see the auras of survivors within 10 meters of the dog redirect. This seems a bit strange in terms of how you would get value, so we play around with a bit to see if we can figure something out.

  1. A few niche cases I can think of, one is just checking a loop area with the dog and hoping to see an aura reading in case you aren't in chase but just want to check without walking over, because dog is fast, and or, you whiff and find survivor b that might be trying to make a save if they are nearby, that's really the only thing I can think for the add-on, just saves you a few extra steps in case someone is like "hiding" behind a wall or something.

  2. You found value in both games, 1 hit in the first game and seeing the plot twist in the second. I think the purpose of the add-on is to find people who might be nearby to help the person in chase but I think it needs more range to be effective. It might also work for camping to keep distance from hook but still see people coming.

  3. Why survivors quit during games; they are the most selfish, arrogant, entitled ass players of any team game I have ever played. I have every achievement in the game. I play both sides. 75% of games I play have at least one survivor who thinks they are way better than they are. Nearly 50% of games have a DC. Because they aren't as good as they think they are, and DC when they start losing, they never actually get better. And a big part of the reason is that they can get away with it.

By comparison, I play League of Legends too. LEAGUE has less salty, arrogant, and selfish players than DbD does. In the past year, I have had less players quit a League game mid match than I have had during the Snow Event for DbD.

  4. Scott 'vile scott' Jund is doin a little GO NEXT experiment by seeimg how many survs disconnect against him for the next few days. Been more and more common lately, ppl giving up on first hook for literally no reason.

  5. I throw my dog into the center of a tile as I enter it to see if anyone is there with the heartbeat which can help find survivors so I guess the aura reading from that could help in that scenario

  6. I think if you would have chosen chase distance over the stun addon you wouldve had more bases covered, for someone not as experienced with dog counterplay and how dog maneuvers loop vs survivor in real time, maybe there's a better way that can be brainstormed as an ultra rare but as it stands to teach the person positioning practice it's alright for now, like it doesn't win games by being ultra rare but it does give a slight chance to mess with more experienced survivors against this killer. Id say try this on Leri's or hawkins
